“#1 Wishes” an Architextures™ Scrapbook layout

Are you looking for inspiration to create a scrapbook layout?
Well, today I share a layout created with some of my favorite products from the Architextures™ collection. When I create a layout, I always start with a photo and then pick a paper that co-ordinates with the feeling, colors and topic of the photo. For this layout, I did the opposite. I fell in love with the back of the  “Market Signs” paper as soon as the pre-launch pictures of Architextures™ came to me .

I love the soft colors, the romantic but yet distressed feeling and have been eager to play with it ever since. But I never found the perfect picture to use until last week when I this picture from Au-Contraire photography showed up in my Facebook fed.

I covered the paper with clear gesso to prevent the wet mediums I wanted to use from soaking into the paper to much, then added the black strip that you can see all down the paper. If you look close you can see that it has crackled – that is because I mixed Tattered Angels Glimmer Mist “It´s Black” with a translucent crackle paste. More black texture comes from the Tin tile “Onyx” that I cut into smaller strips.

A thin coat of white gesso was added before I spritzed over Tattered Glimmer Mists in the shades of “Precious Metal“, “Guilded Gold“, “Gold” & “Taffy”. I started with the lightest one and dried with a heat gun before continuing to the next shade. When completely dry, I added small pieces from the Short Base “Doilies” and dry brushed them with a thin layer of white gesso, then painted them with a thin brush dipped in water & Tattered Angels Glimmer Mist “Dragonfly”. I love the soft aqua color that Dragonfly becomes when it is mixed with water.

Stickers from the Stash Paques “Create” & “Enjoy” work great together with 7gypsies metal & flowers dyed with Glimmer Mists. Splatters of white High Impact Paint and the Dragonfly mist finish off the page nicely.
