Festive Christmas Layouts

After the holidays begin to wind down, its always important to reflex on the special memories that were made.  Creating holiday mementos in the form of ornaments, cards and picture layouts help us to remember that year.

How about this year you grab some paper supplies, photos and your favorite elf, to make a few holiday layouts to remember the year. Oh don’t forget New Years Eve is next week. I’m sure lots of fun memories will take place then as well. With all the blues, gilded silvers and golds, perfect backdrops for picture taking.

A Clean Kraft Christmas Layout

I love the variety of Canvas Corp’s beautiful kraft papers, & the new Farmhouse Christmas collection is an absolute must have! All the kraft papers mix & match well whatever the collection.

I’d like to share with a step by step on a 12×12 layout featuring the Farmhouse Christmas collection. I went kraft all the way with this page, making the jolly photo pop. Make sure to read all the steps to find out my new found kraft tip!

Red & Black Diamonds on Kraft

Farmhouse Christmas on Kraft

Snowflakes Reverse on Kraft

Other:

C Flute Kraft

White & Kraft Chevron Paper

Jolly Christmas Sayings Paper

Red Hemp Rope

Chocolate Burlap Fringe

Additional Materials:

paper flowers & leaves; pine needles; chipboard; glossy accents

Directions

Step 1

Cut out an “uneven” geometric triangular shape, outling the stitching of the Red & Black Diamonds on Kraft paper. You can distress the edges if desired. Adhere well on top of the C Flute Kraft, not forgetting to sneak in a strip of Chocolate Burlap Fringe under the left slant of the diamond kraft paper.

Step 2

Trim 4.25″x4″ of the White & Kraft Chevron paper & layer this under a 3 3/4″x4 3/4″ Christmas photo. Adhere this to the top right of the page, letting only parts of diamonds peek under the photo. Fussy cut the Santa on a sliegh image from the Farmhouse Christmas on Kraft paper & adhere this beside the photo.

Step 3

Now it’s time to build our cluster under the sleigh. Adhere some pine needles first, then layer some mini red paper flowers & white paper leaves near the photo.

Step 4

Fussy cut a big snowflake from the Snowflakes Reverse on Kraft paper & tie a couple of layered ribbons from the Red Hemp Rope. Layer these pieces on top of the cluster, & then top one last piece of small black paper flower.

Step 5

Cut a small strip of Ivory Burlap Fringe in half & curl it. Adhere this in between the leaves & flowers to finish your cluster.

Step 6

To balance the page, add the title at the bottom left. Cut out the Christmas word from the Farmhouse Christmas on Kraft paper & give the letters a good coat of glossy accents. Enameled kraft looks sooooo good, you have to see it for yourself! Layer a round white chipboard, a black circle with snowflake print cut out from the Farmhouse Christmas Tags on Ivory paper, Holly Jolly Christmas cut out from the Jolly Christmas Sayings paper & the enameled kraft Christmas word to finish it all off.
