Gypsy Travels to Junk Refunk Creative Market in Canby, Oregon

We are back with Candy Rosenberg as we join her on her Gypsy Travels to Junk Refunk Creative Market in Canby, Oregon

Hello fellow gypsies,

I had the utmost pleasure of attending the Junk Refunk Creative Market in Canby, Oregon over Mothers Day weekend this year. I was able to bring my mother, Debi Hendershott and my auntie, Sharon Creason with me to meet up with my oldest daughter, Chelsea Rosenberg to attend this market as a birthday and mothers day present for both my mother and I. My aunt had come in to surprise us from Virginia so that was an extra treat. What a motley crew we make.

Canby, Oregon is about 4.5 hours north of where I live in a sleepy little town just south of Portland, Oregon. This venue was the first of its kind, however, the founder has been doing a street market for a number of years. This was a twist on the street market adding creative classes to the roster. The main sponsor, Annie Sloan, was present teaching with her incredible chalk paint lines. I missed her main class as it was completely sold out months before the venue.

There were a few other surprise guests that I was very excited to see and spend some time with, Paulette Jarvey of Hot Off The Press/Paper Wishes and Pom Intra from Prima Marketing, Inc who was a major sponsor of the event as well. Paulette lives in the area and her warehouse was only a few blocks from the venue, believe me, I asked if we could take a few and go to the warehouse but everyone was so busy.

It was a small venue, and a torrential downpour nearly the entire time but what treasures… let’s take a little stroll through some of the booths…

First up is, of course, a steampunk inspired booth and handmade products, Golden Resurrection. He had some fun things that he conjured up from everyday items, including this amazing ship out of an old vacuum and an octopus out of an old chandelier.
