Sewing seems to be a long-forgotten skill…many of us would like to know how to do it but it’s so much easier to just go the shop and get what we want (hopefully). One of our Crew members also wishes she was able to sew but instead, Linda Simpson shares with you a card inspired by the 7Gypsies Gypsy Seamstress Collection.
‘I love anything to do with haberdashery, even though I can’t sew! My first project had to be something that used the wonderful haberdashery papers from Canvas Corp and 7 Gypsies. I wanted to incorporate the wonderful Tattered Angels Glimmer Mists and the Pure Mistable Papers into the project. I therefore decided on making a greetings card. Once the basis of the card was created it all came together, and lots of space to add a greeting at a later date.’ -Linda Simpson
Materials used:
Tattered Angels Pure Mistable Paper 12×12 White Corrugated
Tattered Angels Glimmer Mist Gold and Bronze
7gypsies Gypsy Seamstress: 12×12 patterns
Canvas Corp Heirloom Collection: Sewing on Ivory
Tim Holtz Dress and Bobbin Die
Teresa Collins tape measure ribbon
Tools:
Spellbinder Platinum
Fiskars Scissors
Tonic Guillotine
Silicone Glue
Double sided tape
Sponge to distress the edges of the papers with Glimmer Mists
Linda shares some valuable hints and tips in her video tutorial.
How cool is this card?! You can use it as a Thank You! or a birthday card – all you need to do is add appropriate sentiment and we’re sure you’ll make the recipient very happy.
