Art bringing US together #GSLCCCBmatchup

#GSLCCCBmatchup

I hope you have been enjoying our month long product matchup with Gypsy Soul Lasercuts. So far, the month has been filled with FABULOUS projects and inspiration. Today we are so excited to welcome Crew Member Jean Marmo to the #GSLCCCBmatchup.

JEAN’S INSPIRATION

For those who may not know, I am a twin. From the very beginning, it was obvious that we were very different! Jane is tall, I am short. Jane has blond hair, mine is brown, Jane excelled in art and music, I loved math and science. I hated art with a passion and had to go so far as to send my mom in to talk to the art teacher. We shared the same room but were worlds apart.

Two years ago my job was eliminated and, as I was looking for something to occupy my time, I saw an ad for an art class through continuing education. I was very nervous as I walked into that classroom. Who could have seen that this class would lead me to join the local art group and create and sell mixed media canvases. Now my sister and I share ideas, art supplies and have even worked together.

The goodies Jean received

For the #GSLCCCBmatchup I upcycled an old metal box into an art box for us. I created a cluster on the lid with two of the 1930s Fashionistas that I altered with 7gypsies paper. I made flowers from canvas and tissue paper. The hearts border and butterfly Laser cuts were misted with Tattered Angels. The Architextures Ink Pens completed the look.

Jean’s parting words

I filled the box with mists, paints, papers and more. It will be perfect for those times when I travel to her house and we create together.

Great creativity, Jean. It is neat that you and your sister now share the same passion for crafting. The memory box is beautiful. #GSLCCCBmatchup

I was an only child so I “sometimes” miss not having a sibling.
Love your story on getting to being an artist. I came
from a family of artist but I can’t draw a straight line. I
can do all lots of the different crafts (maybe not well)
but I enjoy being creative. Your box is fantastic.
Love the chipboard pieces. I like to use those on
my cards. Some bible journaling is as far as I’ve
gotten with doing more art pieces.
    thanks for sharing.

Lynn, I am surprised that you have just started with “art” because you have been on my mind from 14 years ago. I must be confusing you with someone else but I feel as if me met a long time ago at the Mesa, AZ stamp show.
Your art is amazing. Enjoy your journey and may it be long and fruitful!!
What an amazing piece of art here!!

Love the cluster on the lid – very pretty! Something I’ll have to try. I have a cardboard cigar box I’ve been meaning to work on, so that will be perfect. Thank you! #GSLCCCBmatchup

This is amazing Jean!!! Love all your details. So weird we have alot in common. Im also a twin, although i didnt get to find out how much we were alike or not. She passed at birth. But I still have had weird twin things happen. So cool your sister and you now have something in common. My oldest sister and i share the creative art world. Loved hearing your story and your project is too neat.
