Easter is just around the corner and we are sure warm weather is on the way. It was time to start playing with some vibrant and cheerful colors to brighten our day and our Canvas Corp Jute Cords were just the ticket. Available in a rainbow of colors you can choose just the right combination.
We created this silhouette bunny by free handing this simple design – hint – like a snowflake you can fold a piece of paper in half and cut one side of the bunny pattern and open it up and you have matching bunny sides. Then trace and cut out on the front side of the card. On a separate piece of kraft paper create the layers of cord by gluing one color after another, the entire way across keeps the card nice and even. We recommend Beacon’s 3 in 1 Glue because it loves to adhere paper and textured items together. Glue the entire piece into the opening. The inside of your card will have blank kraft space on both sides ready for you to write a special sentiment. Add a special little tag, this one is from the 7gypsies Gypsy Moments Collection.
We are loving touches of lace lately and partnering it with our bright hemp cords is a great pairing. Wrap our cords around inexpensive plastic eggs over a layer of Beacon’s 3 in 1 Glue, the perfect choice when gluing a textured item to a slick surface. Wrap a single row of lace and glue and you have beautiful colorful eggs that are handmade.
Are you noticing the green plate below the decor in each of the photos, well we actually painted a Walnut Hollow Wooden Plate with our Tattered Angels Glummer Mist. In person this plate is AMAZING. The gold glimmer shines through. We are a little addicted to staining wood with our Glimmer Mist (Olive Vine)
To create these natural carrots we crated tight cones of our Canvas Corp Kraft paper and then wrapped them with Natural Jute. The carrot leaves are a simple tassel of our newest hemp color – Avocado and glued into the center of the cone. Tie a set of 3 together with a little white lace.
These projects are so cute and so simple. What a great project for a school class or children’s craft night, not only are the finished crafts beautiful, but what a great way to recycle old plastic eggs. Check out some of our favorite Easter Projects on our Pin Board
