Where do you reside?
I live in Phoenix, Arizona
Describe your design style…
Vintage classic and grunge. I use a lot of brown tones in my projects and distressing tools.
Who or what do you give credit to inspiring your creativity?
This probably sounds cliche, but Tim Holtz has been the main source of my inspiration. His techniques and styles got me to think outside of the box.
What inspires you today?
Recently, I have been inspired by literary quotes. I recently purchased a 1936 Royal Typewriter from an antique shop and have been incorporating the type into my projects. I have been inspired to find quotes and use those as inspiration for my projects.
What is your favorite Canvas Corp Brand Product? and why? Just one please!!!
I am definitely a 7gypsies girl as I love all the vintage inspired products. Right now, my favorite is the new Architextures line. These new products enable me to add some great vintage designs to my projects.
We asked Monica to choose her favorite project she has created using CCB Products.
Why is it your favorite project?
My favorite project is a Wine Canvas and Matching card – it’s probably because I made them for my sister’s wedding at a vinyard.
Do you teach and if so tell us a bit about what you teach, where you go and some of your favorite places?
I currently do not teach. We are planning a trip to Italy in the winter and look forward to visiting the Tuscany region. I hope to find some antique shops and be inspired by the age and beauty of the country.
I am the happiest doing…
I am the happiest when I am creating in my craftroom. I love to experiment with new tools and products and this is a place that relaxes me and brings me much joy.
My favorite place to be creative…
My favorite place is in my craftroom. My husband converted the formal living room into a craft space that has lots of room. It has a desk that is the size of a wall creating two workspaces. This is nice when I have a crafty friend over. We have a T.V. and a couch in there as well, so that my husband can come and watch his shows while I am in there creating. Since I spend much of my time in there, it is nice to be able to have him nearby.
Tell us one cool detail about your studio or craft space…
I love my long desk. When it is clean, I can have two work stations which is perfect when my niece comes by or for a crafting friend.
Tell us one thing fun about you we might not know…
I have two little dachshunds that are my crafting buddies. Whereever I go, they typically are not too far behind. They spend as much time in my craft room as I do.
Share with us anything about your creative life that you feel would inspire others…
Time is precious. It comes and goes so fast. Being creative allows me to capture some of that time whether it be in creating a keepsake for a wedding, or bringing back an old quote and incorporating it into a project. I think I love creating vintage projects because vintage is timeless, and I like to show that in my creative journey.
Thank you for stopping by! Have a great day!

I love the desk and the ability to craft with a buddy. I may have to rearrange my craft room now! 😉

great interview–one of these days I might set up in the living room so I can watch shows and craft at the same time.
