Today, we get to know Tonya Trantham.
Where do you reside?
Eastern part of Tennessee on the Tennessee Georgia border in the mountains.
Describe your design style…
Quirky Vintage
Who or what do you give credit to inspiring your creativity?
When I was young my mom always made sure I had a drawing pad, crayons and pencils to keep me occupied while my dad and her worked on building a new house. I could keep myself busy for hours drawing.
What inspires you today?
Anything and everything! Pinterest, Etsy, Flickr, YouTube, magazines, blogs, Joss and Main. Yep, if there is an idea board that can be set up for the site, I have it. ( Joss and Main…I have furniture, accent pieces, rugs, curtains, etc. pinned since I am in the middle of a remodel).
What is your favorite Canvas Corp Brand Product? and why? Just one please!!!
Printed Cardstock because it is the base for all my projects.
We asked Tonya to choose her favorite project she has created using CCB Products.
Why is it your favorite project?
I have two favorite projects…the quilt queen and the clock fairy…both are quirky vintage. 🙂
I am the happiest doing…
When I am creating of course, but spending time with my husband or better yet spending time with my husband at the beach.
My favorite place to be creative…
Is in my craft room.
Tell us one cool detail about your studio or craft space…
The chair is a rescue from the dumpster. My dad sanded it down and my mom stained it, and for my birthday had it reupholstered in some of my favorite fabric.
Tell us one thing fun about you we might not know…
I have a degree in Commercial Art (before computers) but would like to go back and update my degree. I used to decorate cookies for a living. If we didn’t have the cookie cutter of what the customer wanted, I would research and hand draw the design out on paper, cut out the shape and then use the paper shape as a template to hand cut each cookie out. Yes, it was time consuming but the customer’s reaction was priceless.
Share with us anything about your creative life that you feel would inspire others…
Sometimes what is in your head doesn’t come out the way you planned it. Enjoy the process – sometimes what you think is a mistake can turn out to great.
Thank you for stopping by! Have a great day!
