Featured Blogger – Ansku

We are inspired by the world around us and love to showcase new and exciting artist, designers and crafters and our guest designer series is a great way to inspire our Crew as well as each one of you to try something different, show off a new style or help you think outside of your creative box, so from time to time we like to invite crafters to be our Guest Designer/Blogger for a month to challenge us to see things in a different way and so that we may learn more about our products through the eyes of a new designer. This month we have invited Ansku . Ansku is a mixed media artist that has a very eclectic & arty style. We LOVE what she did with the Architextures products we sent her!

Where are you from?
I live in Finland, in Turku with my hubby.

How would you describe your design style?

My style is a bit messy and colorful, I also like to do mixed media works with lots of details.

How long have you been creating?
I’ve been crafting for as long as I can remember. With the Internet it get inspiration from others and all kind of materials has become available, before i did with very simple tools and materials. “Publicly” I’ve been crafting for 11 years, then I started to keep a blog, I made cards and especially the ATC cards were for many years close to the heart. Now less frequently.

What is your go to product right now?
I do lots of art journal pages, i love that. I also participate in the Lifebook 2017 challenges.

Do you have signature touch you like to include in all your pieces?
My trademark is perhaps chromatic and somewhat messy, often tricky, too, a bit of my work, and many people recognize my work.

What advice would you give to someone who gets into a creative slump?
Everyone gets moments when the inspiration is missing, especially after a break, but when you start doing something do not overthink. Let it flow with intuition.

What is the oddest inspiration you have used for one of your projects?
Difficult question. Now there is no idea of a project that would be the result of any strange inspiration. I guess I’m so strange that any kind of crazy thing comes to mind and when they have been realized they are no longer so strange.

Tell us one thing that people might not know about you?
Hmm … what could that be … for this I do not find any answer.

How often do you create?
Often every night a little and a weekend I can do almost all day if there is time.

Do you jot down your ideas before you do the or you creat as go?
I often find that the idea was bad only at the time I start with my project, so I change the idea.
