Featured Blogger – SannArt

We are inspired by the world around us and love to showcase new and exciting artist, designers and crafters and our guest designer series is a great way to inspire our Crew as well as each one of you to try something different, show off a new style or help you think outside of your creative box, so from time to time we like to invite crafters to be our Guest Designer/Blogger for a month to challenge us to see things in a different way and so that we may learn more about our products through the eyes of a new designer. This month we have invited Sanna Friedner aka SannArt. DIY crafts is all the rage these days and we love that so many of our basic products are perfect for simple and clever crafty projects. Sanna create something every day – Most of the time it is drawings or painting, but we asked Sanna to show us what she could do with some of our canvas products.  Here is a bit about Sanna…

Sanna: I live in Stockholm – Sweden.

Sanna: I love color and use bright colors and making a mess.

Sanna: I have always loved to create, mostly drawing, took up scrapbooking and cardmaking. I started painting after a long break in 2010 Now I mostly paint canvases and art journals.

CCB: What advice would you give to someone who gets in a creative slump?

Sanna: Just dive in and be colorful.

CCB: What is the oddest inspiration you have used for one of your projects?

Sanna: I get inspired by everything I see – I love grafitti and kids art.

CCB: Tell us one thing that people might not know about you.
Sanna: I love chili pepper. I always try to find new hot sauces for my food. Hot and spicy! ?
CCB: How often do you create?

Sanna: Every day!

CCB: Do you jot down your ideas before you do them or do you create as you go?

Sanna: I mostly create as I go. Sometimes I have a plan – but I hardly end up following them

Sanna created a colorful apron for her daughter using our Canvas Apron in Toddler/Ex small size.
This is a 100% cotton canvas apron that is perfect for art, cooking or just plain fun. Sized to fit toddlers and small children just right, this craft blank is ready to be embellished, screen-printed, dyed, painted, etc. Buy in bulk to specialize in handmade children’s aprons, or buy a few for your toddlers to wear when in craft mode. Manufactured in USA.
Sanna says ” I applied gesso on to the apron on the spots I was concidering painting on. After drying I sketched the face and painted it with acrylics.  I wrote the big letters with Montana coversall dripstick and the smaller letters with a ordinary marker. Stencils, stains and ink sprays was used to create different patternes on the pockets.
She also created these cool Zipper Bags & banners using Paints, markers and vintage lace.
