Featured Blogger – Stacy Evans {Pink Poodle Craft}

We are inspired by the world around us and love to showcase new and exciting artist, designers and crafters and our guest designer series is a great way to inspire our Crew as well as each one of you to try something different, show off a new style or help you think outside of your creative box, so from time to time we like to invite crafters to be our Guest Designer/Blogger for a month to challenge us to see things in a different way and so that we may learn more about our products through the eyes of a new designer. This month we have invited Stacy Evans. Stacy is a youtuber and love to share her adventures with new techniques and Products.

Where are you from?

Nashville, Tennessee

How would you describe your design style?

My design style is a large mix of grunge, to steampunk and even shabby chic and boho… i love everything and like to dabble in all styles!

How long have you been creating?

Since I was about 10 years old

What is your go to product right now?

Prima Metallique wax’s and tim holtz oxide inks

Do you have a signature touch you like to include in all your pieces?

Not really, I have crafting ADD, I have a short attention span for just one thing haha

What advice would you give to someone who gets in a creative slump?

To do one of 2 things… use prompt cards to get their creativity moving or do the “screw it & do it” technique I teach where you force yourself to sit down for  mins a day and just take a small index card or ATC and start laying down paint and/or collage and work on it for 10 mins each day until the inspiration kicks in on its own and takes over.

What is the oddest inspiration you have used for one of your projects?

Vintage Doll parts!

Tell us one thing that people might not know about you.

I create best between the hours of midnight and 4am!

How often do you create?

Everyday!

Do you jot down your ideas before you do them or do you create as you go?

Sometimes I do but other times I just jump right in!

Stacy created this cool piece with the Products we sent her.

Tracy made this process video showing how she made the Project:

Awesome Rain/fall Tag Stacy created. Brilliant aging on the cup & how she shadowed the crack to further it’s age, the embedding of the river stones in the grout she made & the stream of blue color representing a flow of water between the stones to water the foliage & flowers!!

Stacy teaches from the novice to the experienced crafter with such simplicity in what she’s creating, she explains all the pitfalls in what she’s working on, a time saver, lol! All her videos are most entertaining, she takes the pressure out of “occasional” mess ups, as well as gives the best reviews on new products. A very talented member of the crafting field!

Stacy is a wonderful woman and a great inspiration for me… i learned a lot (everything) from her… she made me craft again after a long period of non active…
When i feel down i look at her youtube videos. She makes me smile and feel good.
Her tag is beautiful… when i saw the video of the making of, i really thought “what will she do with these things?” And as usual it came out a small piece of beautiful art. Her imagination is great… with stacy the sky is the limit…

Cool effect of the wet rocks ? Stacy has tons of videos on line and she’s a very generous instructor – always sharing techniques and DIY recipes. I like that she’s not afraid to experiment and share the mistakes as well as all the successes. Nice to see her featured on Canvas Corp this month.

Stacy’s work blows me away. I have always been a creative person. Shy and keeping to myself. That was until I seen Stacy’s videos on Youtube one night that introduced me to a whole new world of creativity. I have been so inspired by her and over and over. I love how she helps us get past our block and challenges us to get our creative juices flowing. Stacy has one of the biggest hearts and is such a creative inspiration to me that I will always be grateful for!
