Good for the Creative Soul Crew Challenge – Music

We love to do exchanges, support our team and do fun things that keep us creating.  In 2018  we want to push our dear Creative Crew into new creative adventures. We want them to push their limits, try new things and evolve their creativity. We decided to create a serie of out of the box challenges that we call “Good for the Creative Soul”.  We have figured out 1 special challenge each month – starting with January:

This is what we cooked up:

*Your inspiration is MUSIC
* Your project can be anything connected to music – make a instrument, art journal, book cover, layout about your fav singer, or be inspired by a record cover. The imagination is your limits there.

*Use any technique/material you want but it must be 75% CCB products.

Today we share the beautiful work from a few of our Creative Crew Members – first out Ewelyn Walter.

“In my church community in Kochel am See we have a wonderful little church, which became 100 years old in 2014. On christmas in 2013 the organ in the church broke down and we needed a new one – which is very expensive you can imagine. We collected donations – and, how exciting, last year we could buy a new organ! The inauguration was at the first Advent 2017, and Oh! How incredibly gorgeous the new organ sounds!
The old organ was dismantled and we decided to sell the old organ pipes, the proceeds are for our church.

Well, I took some of them, having in mind to do something beautiful with them – and this is the result!”

Karla Yungwirth created a wall hanging:

“I’ve created a mixed media wall hanging with a quote I love about filling your home with harmony, and I love how this also tied in to our music challenge this month! I really believe our home runs so much more smoothly and everyone is happier when we are in harmony. I used the pretty 7gypsies Architextures papers as a collage to print the digital stamps from Tiddly Inks right on top.”

Juli Ondrush created a layout:

“A sweet layout for my daughter, Natalie, chronicling her love of music and her high school marching band; and referring to all the hours of practice needed to make it happen.”

Wrapping by Lynda Lindley:

“My husband and I are celebrating our twenty-fourth wedding anniversary and the traditional gift is an instrument or music. So I bought him a CD he has been looking for and decided to alter some sheet music for the wrapping paper and matching card.”

Beth Byrd made some sweet note cards:

“I created these little note cards for the January Creative Soul Challenge – Music. The black and kraft paper works really well with the old sheet music tags. And, I like the pop of bright green paper that decorates the edge. The little gemstones on the tags give just the right amount of sparkle.”

Canvas from Irit Shalom:

“I made the Mixed Media altered canvas in tribute of one of my all time favorite singers- John Lennnon. I used the title of his most popular song Imagine and if you read the lirics all things around say something lirics connected, like a world without countries, people tied one to another or life of dreams. The large canvas was covered with a lot of texture using different stencils and texture paste. Then it was painted with black paint and all other paints, glitter and mists were added over to get the final color. The photo cluster was build with tags made from different 7 Gypsies papers and arranged as the base for the scanned twice disc cover. The only non CCB products are chipboards and a few washi tape music themed strips. This is a pure kind of Mixed Media canvas with minimum embellishments and maximum mediums and paints.”

Sheri Lewitt crated a spread in her Art Journal for this challenge:

Monica Taylor made a little book:

“I created a Music theme’d journal which can also be used as a junque journal to capture your thoughts as well as keepsake images.”

Cathy Freily upcyckled a box:

“When I saw the subject for this challenge, I immediately thought ‘Gypsies, Tramps, & Thieves’! I upcycled a Dollar Store box I had using Architextures paper, ribbon, & twine, distressing the paper for the outside. I then mounted the sheet music & added ribbon fibers & a jewel. I spritzed some cheesecloth with the pink & snowman mists and added it around the rim. I then added the bells around the lid – makes it look like a tambourine!”
