Gypsy Moments Mini Flip Book

The holidays are close by with gifts to be made and shared.  This special mini flip book was created by Crew Member, Patti Senter and is a perfect gift of gratitude for the season for for 2017.  The book may have blank pages ready to be filled with grateful memories, photos or the pages may have poems, sayings and special notes to remind us of what we are grateful for.

Here’s a wonderful Vertical Flip Mini just waiting for your Heritage photos to make it unique and special to you. I started with the Naked Flip book by 7gypsies and added the Gypsy Moments collection to make it speak to me. I hope it will speak to you as well and you’ll make one for your family photos as well.

Here is what was used:

Tools Used
Fiskars Paper Trimmer
WRMK – Corner Rounder
Martha Stewart – Deco Fan Punch
EK Success -Deco Scallop Border Punch
Sizzix Big Shot
Bone Folder

Patti walks you through the process on your YouTube Channel – check it out and then follow her channel for more great ideas.

Step 1- Cover the outside with Canvas cut from the Gyspy Moments Mixed Media Package. I used Beacons Fabri Tac to secure the canvas to the chipboard. Continue covering all the chipboard pages with paper from the Gypsy Moments 8×8 Paper Pad. Ink the edges heavily with Tim Holtz Distress ink in Ground Espresso.

Step 2 – To make the flower focal point on the outside of the book cut the canvas in the Gyspy Moments Mixed Media Package with the Sizzix Tim Holtz Tattered Floral Die. I cut it several times for volume. If you don’t have this flower die use any you have on hand, a paper punch or just your scissors to form the petals. Glue the petals one atop the other, offsetting them for effect, with Beacon’s 3-n-1 glue, Beacon’s Fabri Tac, or any strong adhering glue you prefer. Scrunch all the petals together at base and allow to dry. Add pre bought stamens (or a piece of bling) to middle, fluff and set aside to dry well until book is finished, then adhere to front of book.

Step 3 -To create the ripped, dimensional look fussy cut the inner portion (with the saying) out and set aside. Ink the inner edges of the opening (where you removed the saying). Place thin strips of foam tape around the back edge of the opening and glue to a piece of solid cardstock. Carefully press the fussy cut piece through the opening to give the illusion it’s sitting below what’s been ripped and torn.

Step 4 – Cluster elements create lots of visual eye appeal to your page. Group together several of the ephemera pieces until it appeals to you (be sure and ink the edges first to help the elements pop). Using an open bag or envelope will allow you to tuck intems inside. Also leave some of the areas free from glue along the edge or top to tuck in removeable tags or what nots.

Step 5 – Don’t overlook what’s on your packaging! Here I took a fussy-cut snippet of the packaging, backed it for stability on cardstock, inked the edges and used a mini paper clip to attach it to my pocket. Your packaging, outside covers of your paper pads, etc can yield you a wealth of valuable material to create with!

Each page, even the back can have a special message of gratefulness.
