Today Crew Member Saadia Nawaz take us to a Bazaar in Pakistan.
“I live in Peshawar, Pakistan. It is the oldest city in Pakistan and one of the oldest cities in the world, with recorded history dating back to 539BCE. It was once an important trading route between India and Central Asia. It is full of secrets, stories and mystery. It even has a ‘Story tellers’ Bazar (Kissa khawani bazar) in older part of the city. Peshawar is famous for flowers, brass, copper utencils and decoration pieces, antique shops, bohemian style dresses, Persian rugs etc.
I went to one of the flea markets near my house few days back. It is a smaller market and it was about to rain so I had very little time to look around.
If found lots of cool stuff ranging from antique looking mugs to frames, vinyl records, old bottles and boxes. I even found old framed embroidery piece.
One frame had beautifully preserved flowers. The other frame that I bought had a beautiful watercolor painting of a bird. I also found a crochet angel in a frame and brought it home.
Every piece in flea market has such mystery behind it. They wait quietly for new homes. Each piece has a great story to tell. I took few pictures of the pieces. I hope you like them.
I’ll visit another bigger and older flea market soon and share its story with you. Until then – safe travel!
