Crew Member Karla Yungwirth share her project inspired by this months Challenge “Cozy Moment”. Have you not yet entered the challenge – well there is still plenty of time – we accept submissions until December 5. You find the how to here.
I’ve created a homemade cozy gift which includes coasters, tags and a tea bag holder, perfect for a friend or teacher – at Christmas or just to say thank you! Who doesn’t like to sit down with a lovely hot cup of tea in a cold day? The Canvas Corp Canvas coasters are just waiting to be decorated – and with a stencil and some Tattered Angels Mists you can personalize them so beautifully!
Products from Canvas Corp Brands:
Canvas Corp Coasters – Canvas Square 4″ (4 pieces)
Canvas Corp Black and Ivory Plaid Paper
Canvas Corp Mini Clothes
7Gypsies Trinkets – China Tea Cups
Tattered Angels Calendar Mist Kit – Man Cave
Tattered Angels Glimmer Mist – Iridescent Gold
This is how Karla made this cute project:
Using a sponge dauber tool and Tangy Lime Simpy Sheer Mist sponge through stencil pressing up and down so that Mist doesn’t sleep under edges. I found it easier to spray some mist into a piece of plastic or a craft mat first.
Sponge the tag using the same steps as above.
Using Rich Brown Simply Sheer Mist sponge selected areas of stencil onto tag and other coasters. Use mists to colour rick rack trim and seam binding ribbon. Trim any loose threads off around canvas coaster and use light brown embroidery thread to blanket stitch around each one.
Use mists to paint plaid pattern on Black and Ivory paper- using Printed pattern as a guide by dipping the paintbrush directly into the mist bottle. Using a YouTube video for directions, create a Tea Bag Holder with a 6×6” piece of the paper. Diecut a stitched tag using the packaging from the Tea Cup Trinket stickers.
Add a stamped sentiment to both tags, tie the diecut tag to the tea bag holder and attach a Tea Cup sticker to the manilla tag. Use bakers twine to tie coasters together and clip tag onto gift with mini gold clothespin.
