July Challenge “Flags of the World”

Our Crew has members from all around the world. This month we want you to use the colors from the flag from YOUR country when you create. There is no limit to what you can do with this challenge – home decor pieces, water color paintings, cards, tags or altered items.

The How to:

To enter this challenge you need to link up your entry  Blog post, or post on Instagram, Facebook or Pinterest (link to the actual project – not the whole page) by using the linkytool below. You have until the end of August 5 to submit your project!  All submissions must have #ccbchallenge somewhere to be considered.

We will invite the winner of the challenges to be our Guest Designer in September. This means that they will get a box filled with goodies from all 3 Canvas Corp Brands to play with! 

We asked Viktoriya Porechnaya, Marie Johansson, & Connie Hall from the Canvas Corp Brands Crew made these samples using Canvas Corp Brands products. If you are not familiar with the Crew, they are a part of one of the most dynamic, creative, positive, inspiring, world-wide design team in the industry. 

Viktoriya tell us: My country is Ukraine. This is the biggest country in Europe and a geographic center too. We have modern industrial and computer technology, but we love our nature,fields and forests. Our flag is yellow and blue-these colors of sky and fields of wheat and sunflowers! Red viburnum and red strips in flower wreath are also our symbols. Special embroidery, weaving and lace-making are used in traditional folk dresses that called Vyshyvanka and in traditional celebrations. Ukrainian are very hospitable and generous nation for friends. Today we have hard times in our history with revolution and war, but words of our anthem “The glory and the will of Ukraine has not yet died” (also – “Ukraine has not yet perished)”

Connie created a colorful layout: I created a page inspired by the tree of peace and the Haudenosaunee Flag, We are Mohawks and Eastern Door Keepers. The tree of peace provides shelter those in need. The tree is triangle and squares that are glimmer misted and sewn to look like a quilt square. Added a couple of layers of lace for the picture to sit on. Calico print matt. Thickers and white flowers and thickers.

Crew Member Marie Johansson tell us about her project: I created a card with the colors from my country Swedens flag. The royal blue & yellow really is symbolic to summer for me. It reminds me of the yellow fields against the blue sky. I layered different papers & embellishments from all 3 of the Canvas Corp Brands and filled up with flowers stained with Glimmer Mists and a cut out lily from one of the Mixed Media Orgins cards. A little chipboard with the Swedish word for cogratulations – Grattis – make the card a perfect gift for any birthday this summer.
