Little Art Pieces – the making of an Artist Trading Card

Let’s talk about Simply Sheer for a minute. We give a lot of time and effort to Glimmer Mist, yes it was the first, yes there are so many colors, yes they have a special glimmer to them that we love, but we just have to give a little special time to it’s sister brand Simply Sheer. It is sometimes referred to as Plain Jane but we like Simply Sheer so much better when referring to this wonderful mist paint minus the mica.  Sometimes a project lends itself to a matte finish, simply touch of color and mica can get a bit in the way. Simply Sheer is the perfect go-to mist for just such an opportunity. By the way…the colors are spectacular and they are not the same colors as Glimmer Mist, some of them you can only get in as a Simply Sheer color. Take a look at the collection here – Simply Sheer Mist Paint.

Step 1 – Begin by adding some random strips of masking tape on your ATCs to give more texture to the background and start building up some color with the sprays.

Step 5 – Also take a piece of ribbon and stick it on the ATC creating a ruffle look.

Step 6 – Add a line of hot glue bellow the ruffled ribbon strip for more dimension and texture.
Step 7 – Continue adding more color with the sprays to cover the ribbon and thread. You can also add some acrylic paint for extra accents.
Step 8 – Color the fabric flowers with the same sprays and layer them with some hot glue on top of the tangled thread.

Like the color combo. Never would of thought that green and blue went so well together.
