“Some-bunny loves you” Mixed Media Watercolor Layout

“If you have a cellphone and some other social media like Facebook, they can’t have escaped you: pictures of people looking like bunnies, or other animals.
Normally I’m not a big fan of those pictures, but when my brother turned my little boy and me into these 2 cute bunnies, I couldn’t help but like it. My boy thought it was even sweeter.
With that in mind, and Easter being here, I decided to create this fun and fresh layout,”
says our crew member Mandy Leever-Koel.

STEP 1
Apply clear gesso all over the Canvas Corp Paper ‘Black & Ivory French Script’. Once dry, add white gesso roughly in the section you wish to work on, subduing the harsness of the script.

STEP 2
Using a Prima stencil and TCW Light & Fluffy Modeling Paste, create a flower frame on the part you ‘gessoed’ white. If you use your heatgun, the paste will puff. It’s up to you if you like that effect, or not.

STEP 3
First spray water onto your paper, aiming for the sections you have made white with gesso. Bit by bit. Using your Tattered Angels Glimmer Mists, sprinkle and drop the mist onto the paper (not spraying is the key) and watch it flow thanks to the water. Watch the various colours blend, careful not too mix colors that become a dirty brown.
I used Tattered Angels Glimmer Mist Apple, English Ivy, Electric Blue and Chalkboard Blue Ribbon.
Splatter some drops after the water and ‘blend’ have dried.

STEP 4
Adhere 7Gypsies Architextures Tall Base Chicken Wire, cut into the desired pattern, onto the paper, framing your picture. Layer your picture onto a piece of Aqua Canvas Corp Burlap, which in turn is stapled to bits of Canvas Corp Life Newsprint Paper (colored with Tattered Angels Glimmer Mist Apple).

STEP 5
Color a paper frame using the Tattered Angels Naturally Aged Paint System Rusty Metal. To me the effect could use a little more depth, so I painted some bits using Tattered Angels High Impact Metallic Paint ‘Platinum’.
I die-cut my frame using a Bigshot and my Tim Holtz Ornate Frame die. But any paper /cardstock/chipboard frame will do the trick!
Cut in half, and slide both sides to the left and right side of the layered picture.

STEP 6
Give your chipboard letters a coat of white gesso, before coloring them with the Tattered Angels Glimmer Mists used in this project. Shake, unscrew and dip your brush into the bottle for better results. Allow some blending.
Once dry, add a clear one step crackle medium.

STEP 7
Add some more trinkets, like a small 7Gypsies Brass Heart underneath the Lightbulb.
Add the silver metal tags. To dim their silver shine, paint them with Tattered Angels Glimmer Glam ‘Bon Bon’ here and there. To complete the title, add the small Prima lightbulb with the text ‘you’.

Using your diecut machine and some wildflower dies, add a few here and there, colored with a few colors and drops of Tattered Angels Glimmer Mists. Add a few skeleton leaves, distress the sides of the paper, ink them, and your page is done!
