We love clever ways to create with paper and on the blog today Irit shows us how to make a sweet and simple baby book with just a few folds. Canvas Corp offers a collection of what are called Little Pages – these are 12×12 sheets that are divided up into 6 (4×6) cards that can be cut, folded, turned…to make a mini book, journal pages for a layout, added to a card and more. They come in a range of basic color options that work with just about any Canvas Corp Collection. Along with Little Pages, which make journaling and paper crafting just a touch easier, we also offer a fun collection of printed Samplers, Sayings and Tags with each of the collections. These papers are all 12×12, but designed to be cut into various sizes and shapes to give you a wide range of ephemera pieces you can add to your projects. Here is the It’s A Girl Sampler with lots of fun art, titles, words, sayings and little decorative do dads to make it easy and thrifty, while looking good.
Hi everyone! Irit here with a mini baby girl album made from a single 12×12” cardstock paper with only 2 cuts and a few folds and then embellished with products from the Sugar & Spice Mix & Match Pad matched with a few other cardstock papers and nested dies for the cover. The Mix and Match pad has 16 assorted printed cardstock papers, printed fabric, fluted paper, burlap and canvas in one great pack. You can also purchase each of the papers separately or choose the little boy version – Snips ‘n Snails.

- Hot Pink and White Damask Rev 12×12
- Canvas Corp Hot Pink Rope
- 7gypsies Hangers

Tools – Scissors and Paper Cutter
Step 1: Take the Little Pages Black on Ivory cardstock and score it down the middle so it has 5 7/8” on each side of the scored area making a “spine” measuring 1/4” in the middle. Now, score it vertically at 1/3” and 2/3” and make 2 cuts. Cut 1/8” from the left upper and lower sections and leave the middle in the full size.
Step 2: Cut 6 pieces from the Hot Pink and White cardstock and adhere them onto the basic cardstock as shown. Add paper cut sentiments in each rectangle on the bottom.
Step 3: Make 12 tags from 3 different cardstocks from the Sugar & Spice pad and add 12 month labels on the top. Arrange the tags putting 2 over each of the 6 sections and connect them to the page with small Velcro dots.
Step 4: Fold the upper and lower left flaps and embellish the back with punched embellishments from the pad.
Step 5: Fold the upper and bottom right flaps into the middle of your album and embellish the last pages with circled cuts.
Step 6: Fold the open left section and your album is closed.
Step 7: Make the cover panel with different cardstocks using nested scalloped dies, black corrugated cardstock and light pink canvas and add the title.
Step 8: Adhere the cover panel over the album. Add a metal staple hanger with a small baby charm on the top. Glue two pieces of pink rope to make the closure of the album.
You’re done!
So cute – we love it! This is the perfect place to store first memories, pictures, memorabilia, etc. Any daughter would treasure this for a lifetime – so special!
