Vintage Stationery

Etiquette
THE COMPLETE MODERN GUIDE FOR
DAY-TO-DAY LIVING
THE CORRECT WAY
Stationery, to be in good taste, should avoid trickiness or gaudiness, either in shape, or color, or decoration.  Leave rosebud-trimmed papers to twelve-year-olds and scented note-paper to historical novelists. Ruled papers are reminiscent of second-grade penmanship class, and the use of first names printed without surnames on writing paper is considered childish.  The following is what is accepted as good taste in stationery:

Vintage Stationery
5 sheets of two sided paper
5 envelopes
2 small tags
2 stickers
At 7gypsies we love old world, old architecture, old postcards and old documents. This stationery came from the collections of these things…
Gypsy

2 small two-sided tags
Notice the word GYPSY on the writing paper?  and the envelopes, like the inside of an old worn book cover, just lovely.  What’s better, the back of the envelope or the front?  we can’t decide!
2 vintage look stickers, modeled after an old game card

London Bridge

smart little envelopes with a map of London on the inside…fabulous inside a summer travel journal, wouldn’t you say?
notice the little tag of the quintessential symbol of London?
…a red phone booth.

the small crown on the back of the envelope, and a whimsical sticker or two.
Le Marais
A darling little french set…you know we can never get enough of all things Parisian. We hope you can’t either!

the sticker has the same design as one of the stamps on the new Avignon clear stamp
sweet little tags with beautiful script and the Eiffel tower to match the envelope
Venezia
On, how we love Venice. The feeling of romance is in the air!

don’t you just love the envelope with the air mail border?
and the little calendar sticker…darling.
The Vintage stationery, with all it’s beautiful gathered elements begs you to write a letter from a far away land or to a friend just around the corner.  Heavy in weight and soft to the touch, this stationery is a most useful tool to send correspondence of any sort.  Who knew there were so many kinds of letters one could send?
acknowledgment letter  acceptance letter
letter of intent   letter of introduction
billet-doux  (a sweet little note)
   letter of recommendation
bread-and-butter letter (a letter expressing thanks for hospitality)
letter of thanks
business letter    love letter
chain letter    mash letter
Dear John letter     poison-pen letter    rejection letter
fan letter    thank-you note
We hope you love this stationery as much as we do…so many uses, we can hardly keep our mind on only one.

I’ve challenged myself to hand write one letter or note each week this year. And I get more in the mood of letter writing IF I have new stationery–these design look marvelous, anxious to see them for sale very soon.
