Winter Handmade Cards Skating in the Snow

Oops did not get a chance to send out Christmas Cards this year, why not snow or winter cards and here is a simple idea with great texture and warm wishes.  Crew Member Chris Pozzi shows us how simple a layered card can be and you can mix and match the prints to maximize your papers and burlap pieces.

“I was definitely dreaming of a winter wonderland when I created this winter-y card. When I looked at the Blue and Ivory Dot Reverse paper I was thinking snowballs! So I paired the blues with some skating stamps and since snow makes me think of hot cocoa, I stamped using brown inks and suddenly Skating in the Snow was born!” – Chris Pozzi

Materials Used:  Canvas Corp:  Blue and Ivory Ticking Paper; Blue and Ivory Dot Rev Paper; 12×12 Burlap Sheet; Sin City Stamps Sets – Winter Wonderland and Penguins on Ice; Ranger Archival Ink; Ribbon; Button; Floral Sprigs

Tools Used: McGill Scallop Punch; Sewing Machine; Bowdabra Bow Maker

Canvas Corp Papers are cardstock weight which makes them perfect for card bases.  They are blank on the inside and printed all over on the outside.  Something you might not know about the paper is they are printed on recycled paper, printed with soy inks and all made in the USA.

Cut Card base from Canvas Corp Blue and Ivory Dot Reverse and stitch a piece of burlap on to the card.  You can let a bit of the fringe show, which gives the card a very handmade, rustic look.

Cut two banners using Canvas Corp Dot Reverse (we will use the Ivory side of the paper) and the Canvas Corp Blue and Ivory Ticking. Attach the banners to the upper left hand corner of the card base.

Create Ribbon bow adding floral sprigs and a button to the center of the bow to finish off the card. I used my Bowdabra mini bow maker to create the bow.
