You know the ‘themed’ projects we all have from time to time… The projects where you have to make so many various things like tags, banners, cards, scrap pages… and all of them to match a theme, like beach holidays, gardening or even holiday baking? All you need is a pack or a set of papers and embellishments that will enable you to do it. A set in co-ordinating colours with matching tags and sayings… Look no further! We have what you need! With Canvas Corp Mix&Match Pads you get a set of 16 themed papers, printed fabric, burlap sheets and canvas with the neutral burlap and e-flute paper (that’s corrugated paper). It doesnt get much better than this.
Jean Marmo is sharing with you two Baby Girl projects she made to celebrate becoming a grandma and she used one of the CC Mix&Match Pads for both of them. Sugar and Spice has the perfect mix of 12×12 papers, a sheet of pink burlap and a sheet of natural canvas; all topped up with a 12×12 printed canvas sheet! The ivory-pink-black colour theme and the variety of baby-related designs will make it your go-to supply for all your little-girl projects.
Without further ado… Jean’s scrapbooking layout of her daughter getting the baby room ready.
‘My daughter is expecting our first grandchild in April and we are all preparing for the arrival of a girl! The Sugar & Spice Collection is perfect for scrapping because of the coordinated papers!’ – says Jean.
Materials used:
Canvas Corp Mix & Match Pad – Sugar & Spice
Tattered Angels Glimmer Mist – Party Pink
Here are some of Jean’s tips:
- Select different pattern and colour papers and layer them under the photos.
- Add embellishments to the centre of the layout.
- Cut out Block design from the canvas and paint with Tattered Angels Party Pink Glimmer Mist
- Finish by adding flowers and a title.
To make the big announcement, Jean also prepared cute ‘IT’S A GIRL’ banner.
‘I will be traveling to Phoenix where her friends are hosting a shower for her and the weekend after that we have a shower here in Michigan. I volunteered to make a banner for her friends. The shower theme is pink and gold in honor of the baby girl.’ – explains Jean.
Materials used:
Canvas Corp Mix & Match Pad – Sugar and Spice
Canvas Corp Small Clothespins – Light pink
Recollections – Gold Banner Pad
Heart Doilies
EK Success Scallop Circle Punch
Tulle, Ribbon, Baby Socks
Here’s how to make it:
Punch scallop circles from Pink on Ivory papers from the Mix & Match Pad and cut them in half.
Adhere the half circles to the back of your banners.
Cut slightly bigger banners from Canvas and Burlap from the Mix & Match pad.
Punch Scallop circles from Pink and Ivory Mini Dot from the Mix and Match Pad. Adhere Alphas and secure to banner using Pop Dot – the Alphas are to spell the word or phrase you want the banner to display.
Decorate each pennant with a saying from the Baby Girl Quotes on Ivory from the Mix & Match Pad.
Glue the banners to the doilies and thread with ribbon. Secure with Clothespins.
Aren’t these two projects cute? You could also think about making tags or invitations using the papers – that will allow you to keep the theme going throughout.
You can go for blue colours for a boy with the Snips&Snails Pad or choose a completely different theme altogether – with the Mix&Match Pads you will have plenty to choose from.
