Summer is slowly winding down but CCB products are heating up! Using Aga Baraniak’s newest collection – Bohemian Romance – is a lovely way to create a beautiful decor piece! The purples and greens and patterns are mouth-watering. Add some mixed media butterflies and Tattered Angels paints and you’ve got a stunning piece of framed art!
I am Cathy Frailey and I want to share with you my ‘Beautiful Butterflies’ which are now living on a sideboard in my living room.
Materials used:
Picture frame
Aga Baraniak – Bohemian Romance 8×8 pack
Tattered Angels Mixed Media Origins Mini Art – The Butterflies (packaging)
Tattered Angels Glimmer Mist – Kiwi, Doubloon, Periwinkle Bouquet, Fully Purple, Dark Vintage Green, Electric Blue
Tattered Angels Glimmer Glaze Paint – Desert Sun
Matte gel, Baby oil
Scissors, Paint brush, Water brush
Choose a piece of Aga’s paper to turn into vellum. I chose Live Freely because it’s lighter and will show what’s underneath it better. Make a copy (has to be a thinner paper) and brush baby oil on to saturate it – you can see how it’s transformed! Dry both sides with a paper towel.
Choose your paper to go underneath – I chose Bohemian Romance Words. Cut down both pieces to fit inside your frame (I used the cardboard piece in my frame as a template).
Take the packaging from the Butterflies mixed media pack – you can use everything with CCB! Cut out a couple butterflies.
Start coloring your butterflies with the Tattered Angels paints using a paint brush or water brush. So much glimmer and beautiful color! Then cut them out.
Put your layers together in your frame and add some splashes of color on your vellum. Then add your butterflies and some chosen words left over from the Romance Words paper.
I bent the wings on my butterflies to make them dimensional.
The vellum is lovely and allows those words and phrases to show through!
Tattered Angels really adds glimmer and shine and beautiful tones!
