Christmas is only 5weeks away so it’s time to start not only thinking about decorations but actually working on them!
In the CCB shop, you can find plenty of products that will inspire your creativity and over the next weeks we will be sharing with you some festive projects with you to keep your creative juices flowing.
Today, we have for you a project by Sally Mitton – ‘Noel’ bunting, inspired by Canvas Corp blue vintage pennants.
Products you will need for this project:
Canvas Corp blue vintage bunting pennants – Toile
Canvas Corp printed canvas sheets: Tile and French Script
Tattered Angels Glimmer Glaze paints
To make the base of the bunting ribbon, I used some lace ribbon from my stash.
I coupled it with some blue ribbon to match the Canvas Corp blue vintage bunting.
Sew these together – attach the ribbon to the lace using pins to make sure it’s straight.
This forms the bunting ribbon.
Take the Canvas Corp printed canvas sheet and add some pretty patterns using the TA Glimmer Glaze Paints. I stamped mine out but you can hand-paint them.
Cut the pendant pieces out – try to keep them the same size as the CC vintage pennants. It might be an idea to use them to draw a cutting outline on the 12×12 fabric before cutting.
Take some lettering templates and cut out the words you need – to keep it in the Christmas theme, I used NOEL.
Paint the letters with TA Glimmer Glaze Paints.
Cut out the remainder of the pennants to match the Canvas Corp vintage blue pennants and assemble the bunting.
At the ends, you can add a fabric flower made from the same lace/blue ribbon combo used for the bunting base.
Here you have the finished bunting – it will look amazing on your fireplace, above your entrance door, in your hall or on your fence… whenever you want to put it – it will a delicate, vintage Christmas feel to it.
Where will you put yours?
