Today we’re sharing some ideas for handmade breast cancer encouragement cards. I know there are many of you who have gone through, are going through, or who have friends that have/are going through breast cancer, and often times the simplest of cards can make someones day.
When someone you know is fighting the battle a card brings, hope, a smile and a reminder you are thinking of them. Consider making cards for your local cancer facilities and make someone’s day. October is Breast Cancer Awareness month, but every day of every year women and some men are fighting the battle, so help build awareness in October, but share love and creativity all year long. Here are some great ideas that will inspire you to make your own cards.
Courage & Hope
Courage is being afraid but doing it anyway.
How relevant is this quote to our topic? Every time I witness someone who is battling cancer, I am overcome with emotion regarding the amount of COURAGE they have. The courage to get up every morning and fight. The courage to undergo chemotherapy. The courage to overcome.
This beautiful “courage” card was created using pieces from the Dreams Tattered Tangles pack. This pack includes so many inspirational sayings that can make an assortment of cards. The feather was inspired by this post from Craftberry Bush and was created using white paper and of course, a little Glimmer Mist. The base of the card is hot pink and white mini dot and a strip of hot pink burlap.
The interior of the card is rather simple. It features a feather design, with negative space to write a message of hope, love, etc.
Just Breathe
As you can see, this next card reads, “Just Breathe.” Because when push comes to shove, sometimes we just need to take a seat, and just breathe. It’s a layered card that includes black cardstock, tissue and hot pink damask, and a touch of the Dreams Tattered Tangles pack.
It’s a Good Day
This last card is a little pick-me-up. It can be for those battling cancer, or the loved ones supporting those battling cancer. It reads, “It’s a good day to have a good day,” because often it’s hard to see the good. It uses black mini dot paper, pieces from the Dreams Tattered Tangles pack, a piece of red canvas and a chalkstock tag sewn to the canvas.
To all those battling cancer, you are in our thoughts and prayers. Please consider finding a foundation to donate to help find a cure for breast cancer. You can also learn more with so many great resources such as Texas Medicare Plan.
