As all of you probably know I love camping and we spend the summer at the lake. Summer = hot which of course means beers and coolers 🙂 I was tired of picking up beer bottle caps on the ground so came up with this simple bottle opener… I drew the design and gave its dimensions to my husband to whip it up.
Once all built, I had the fun of decorating it.
What I used to add some color to my bottle opener:
Tattered Angels High Impact paint – black and white
Tattered Angels Color Wash – weathered copper faux finish
Paint brush and Stencil
Once my piece was all cut and assembled I stated bu sanding it, then I took the Tattered Angels weathered copper faux finish colourwash to paint the whole box.
I had a stencil in my stash that I then transferred on the front of my box using the Tattered Angels black high impact paint and added a few white lines in my letters to give highlights to my writting.
To finish off my box I painted a small tree again using the Tattered Angels black high impact paint and nailed in the little opener to the top of the box.
Problem solved no more beer caps on the ground.
Thanks for taking the time to read my blog.
