Canvas Corp Brands ~ Dare 2B Artzy Match up

WELCOME to the…..Product Match-Up with Dare 2B Artzy and Canvas Corp Brands.  A few of their designers + a few of our Crew = amazing projects!!!  What is a product match-up?  It is a chance for our Crew to see how other products work with ours and a chance to introduce another manufacturers to all that Canvas Corp Brands has to offer.  If you are visiting our blog for the first time welcome.  This match up is a great way to meet new people and just say Hi.  Canvas Corp Brands is made up of 3 brands – 7gypsies, Tattered Angels and Canvas Corp.  We are all located at the Corporate offices in Springdale, Arkansas.  While all 3 brands work amazingly well together, each one stands on its own: 7gypsies with its vintage style, Tattered Angels with its DIY and craft paints and Canvas Corp with its classic, craft basics including printed papers, canvas and burlap.  To see more about what we do visit the Canvas Corp Brands Website, our online shop Canvas Corp Brands Shop and you are here at our Blog and you can sign up to get our weekly blog updates – Blog Feed   We will leave our Youtube, Pinterest, Instagram and Facebook Links for the brands below – we would love for you to follow us on your favorite social media sites.

Each designer on both design teams got a box of goodies that include stamps and inks from Dare 2B Artzy and hand-picked products from CCB to play with.  The samples arrived blindly to them, so they had to work with what they received and make something great for the blog and in the process teach us a fun new technique we would share with you.  So we kick off this match-up / blog hop with our first three projects where Crew Members,  Gloria Stengel, Monica Edwards and Kim Rippere matched things up.

Here is a little sneak peek at what arrived to each designer.  A mixture of many different items that all coordinate inspiring them to match things up.  They also all got a taste of the new Tattered Angels Shimmers – a liquid watercolor paint with a brush applicator that is perfect for adult coloring and coloring in stamps on fabric, paper and more.

Creative Stamping Techniques using Canvas Corp Brands Products, along with Dare 2B Artzy stamps & inks
and what WONDERFUL creations they came up with!!

First up we have Gloria Stengel – Gloria combines a barbed wire paper with clever art from the Canvas Corp Watering Can Collection with great color choices that span the rainbow.  You can see how the colors react on canvas, paper and an embossed surface.  Taking the same rainbow color story on more than one element of her card creates a cohesive and awesome look. 

Spray canvas with mists. Stamp image with black pigment ink. Cut with circle die.  When stamping on canvas the pigment ink is the prefect choice and the stamped print becomes part of the fabric and then you can decorate, color it or even sew it your way.

Sponge text paper with ink. Stamp feathers with white ink and heat emboss with
white embossing powder. Sponge with ink. Die cut feathers.  The stamps and die cuts work perfectly together so it makes the fussy cutting look a breeze.

Next up we have Crew Member Monica Edwards
Monica altered the front cover of the canvas mini album by stamping directly 0n to the canvas.
“I used a stencil to create a background and used various colors of glimmer mist,
and glam to color in the different areas.”

You can color in stamped artwork a number of ways

1. shake and pour mist into a small cup or paint palette and apply with a brush 

2. shake and mist onto the stamped area

3. mist onto a non-stick mat and with a small sponge or applicator paint more freely than a brush

4. dip the stamp into the mist and stamp directly onto the fabric (similar to an ink pad) 

So many choices when working with canvas and stamps – fun to try them all.

The inside pages are covered using Canvas Corp pattern papers.

Kim Rippere rounds out today’s post with a fun project where she created something freshly out of the box into something fun and different.  So often we take things for just what they are and Kim choose to look at some of the items so differently.

I had too much fun playing around with all the things I received from Canvas Corp Brands and Dare 2B Artzy! I had a plan for the pennants. But, as I was thinking about what might be and how they might be used…BUNNY EARS became the new project concept. I randomly accordion folded a banner and an ear was born.

The name is a play on my partner’s nickname from years ago…Bunk! It is a bunnykey…bunky…bun-key. He also loves word play like this and got a good laugh!

Stamping on canvas is pretty easy with any color ink and it looks great.  Stamping on burlap looks great too, but there are a few things to think about when stamping on burlap – choose stamps that do not have too much detail, choose larger style stamps, hold the stamp in place a bit longer to allow it to stamp properly.
