7gypsies is taking Mixed Media by storm with it’s new line called Architextures™. What is it all about you ask? Well in a few simple words, mixed media supplies that will ignite the senses, bring back wonderful memories of the past and inspire your creativity. All we can say is your are going to fall in love…What makes the collection so unique is the items actually look and feel like the real objects, but they are created to use in your craft and mixed media projects. It is like shopping at a vintage flea market for items to add to your mixed media stash, oh what fun.
Today, we are showing you one of our favorite collections – Architectures™ Trinkets – Animal Heads. So clear are these three pieces, that they look like actual animal heads that one might put on the wall as part of their vintage collection. Another fun thing about Architectures™ is the treasure hunt you can go on looking for unique and different pieces in the collection. You will find different assortments at your favorite shops, online and Michaels Stores. Each assortment is a bit different, so be on the look out at your favorite retailer for different Architectures™ pieces. Ask for the collection by name and if they don’t carry it, please send them our way!!!!
These tags are so easy to make and are the perfect way to repurpose an old cardboard box you might have hanging around. Simply cut the tags into just the right size, snip the corners and use a hole punch to add the hole.

Travel to wonderful places with this Architextures™ Parchment Rub-Ons (Discover). If you have not discovered these yet, you are in for a treat. A full sheet of wonderful vintage art on a sheet of parchment paper and each piece is ready to be released onto your next project. There are a total of 6 different collections – Discover, Inspire, Build, Grow, Pose and Live – filled with over 150 different designs, words and sayings.
Choose your favorite designs, cut them from the sheet, lay flat on your surface (we recommend paper or canvas for best results) and then release the design with a flat or dull tip end by rubbing into place. You will see the ink remove from the sheet. The end result is a wonderful vintage-like stamp design.
Next choose your favorite Architextures™ Trinket. Trinkets are sets of 3 different objects that make a wonderful vintage collection. There are so many to choose from, but we thought this grouping of animal heads was right on trend and so perfect for our travel tags. The photo does not do them justice, but the texture you can see, you can also feel. They have a wonderful soft feel with dimension where it should be. The realistic style brings a wonderful, classy look to your designs.
One other fun thing to note, the turquoise and rust card above the heads is actually the packaging that came with them. Each Architextures™ packing is designed to work right into your art, so don’t you dare throw it away, cut it up, use it as a background or save it for later.
Layer each tag with a bit of fabric, burlap and snips of the packaging to get this look and don’t forget to dig into your stash to add to the layers, we are sure you have a few wonderful pieces to add. The numbers are part of the Architextures™ Stash Paques. These wonderful packs of goodness feature 9 different sheets including labels, stickers, alphabets, adhesive textured papers, mini posters, sayings and more. So many different pieces to choose from. Snip a strip or two or three from one of the 7gypsies Junque Packs that are filled with the latest papers, fabrics and ephemera collected to create these wonderful packs. You will always find a bit of canvas in everyone to make these ties or add them to any project.
Now put it all together – layers, Trinkets, labels, rub-ons and more. So easy and the cardboard tag base is so easy to make and so much fun to decorate and sssshhh the tags are free to anyone who can find a box hanging around. Don’t worry if it has writing or not perfect, it only makes the tags more interesting.
