The Canvas Corp Brands Creative Crew is an amazing group of designers that help us here at CCB to show creative ways to use products from our Brands: 7gypsies, Tattered Angels and Canvas Corp. Along with creating projects for the blog, many of our Crew teach classes around the world. Today on the blog we are going Downunder with Crew Member Christine Santos who put together an amazing layout for Creative Adventure Downunder 2016 in Auckland, New Zealand. Christine is a fabulous mixed media artist and she is able to teach others through her classes.
Christine shares, “It’s such an honor and pleasure to have shared a weekend with 60 lovely ladies who attended the event, and teaching alongside amazing tutors in the papercrafting industry.” She goes on to say, “My layout for the event was a double mixed media Spring Showers Layout, showcasing the gorgeous Spring Showers collection and various Canvas Corp ropes and cords.”
It is a huge undertaking to put on such and event, including putting together each class. You may not know but putting together a class takes a lot of time and sometimes we forget to let the teachers know how much we appreciate their hard work. Not only do they have to create a spectacular project with wide appeal that includes something new that most people have not tried, but they also have to source all the products, order enough for the class, sort the products into kits, create a teaching box, gather any tools, set up the day of the event, teach the event and then the hardest part might possibly by cleaning up after the event is done! But it is all worth it to see so many excited faces after a class.
“I would also like to say a massive thank you to Jodi Tomlin and Michelle Widdows for organizing the whole retreat, which was a success, and also to all the helpers at the event for the smooth running of all the classes.” Christine shares, “and last, but not the least, thanks so much to Christine Meier and the whole team at Canvas Corp Brands for coordinating the class with us! Without all that help this event wouldn’t be possible…so again, thank you!!!”
