Where do you reside? City, State, Country
I have lived my whole life in Texas! I live in Katy, Texas with my husband, my 2 daughters, and my craft dog, Jonas.
Describe your design style…
My design style is vintage eclectic – some days, I create things all bright and cheery, and the next I gravitate towards vintage and worn supplies and inked edges. I love to mix old with new – I think this is one of my favorite things about me; however, in whatever I make, I always seem to have a touch of aqua blue and, more often that not, polka dots!
Who or what do you give credit to inspiring your creativity?
I am inspired by others – there is so much inspiration to be found everywhere!!! My mom is a wonderful seamstress and cook, and I give her credit. But mostly, I give credit to God–He just pushes the art thru me. My favorite quote – “Art is a collaboration between God and the artist, and the less the artist does the better.” – Andre Gide
What inspires you today?
I love, love, love all the beautiful product that is available. I love to mix collections, using what I have in my stash combined with recent purchases. When I first started scrap-booking, I used to hoard and not be able to use double sided paper or discontinued product. But I have come to understand the freedom that comes from using the product to create something new. And let’s not forget about all the beautiful things to be found on Pinterest and Youtube!
What is your favorite Canvas Corp Brand Product? and why? Just one please!!!
Canvas Corp Brands has so many beautiful products – something for every style. It’s so very hard to choose… but my current favorite has to be all the Tattered Angels Glimmer Glam paints, especially the Espresso Bean! Not only does it add a vintage look in coffee brown, but it has a permanent and soft gloss finish. It works on paper, wood, metal – it’s a must!
We asked Juli to choose her favorite project she has created using CCB Products.
Why is it your favorite project?
This little book just combines so many of the things I love – words and text, wood grain, pattern and texture, burlap and canvas. It was so easy to express myself with amazing products!
Do you teach and if so tell us a bit about what you teach, where you go and some of your favorite places?
I do not teach at this time, but I do share tutorials and flip-throughs on my Youtube channel.
I am the happiest doing…
1) Quiet, early morning cups of hot coffee
2) Walking the dog
3) Shopping for new art products
4) Messy, creative art play
5) Family time with lots of laughs and good food!
My favorite place to be creative…
I spend most of my time in my craft room – the door is always open to my kids (except when filming!) and there is always mess on my desk!
Tell us one cool detail about your studio or craft space…
My craft space is always a mess! As soon as I clean it, there it goes again. Every meme about a craft room? Ya, that’s me!
Tell us one thing fun about you we might not know…
I am a huge podcast fan! Some of my favorites are The Catholic Underground, Mugglecast, and ScrapGals! Let me know if you check these out!
Share with us anything about your creative life that you feel would inspire others…
The rules are there are no rules. Use what you have, be kind to others, it’s okay to be one of a kind!
Thank you for stopping by! Have a great day!
