Where do you reside? City, State, Country
I live in Germany, near the mountains ‘Harz’.
Describe your design style…
Mixed Media is my thing, no matter if it’s scrapbooking or home decoration. My big passion are colours and textures and I’m a fan of vintage and love the things that are old and nobody wants anymore, because they have a history! I like to invent always new and so I will also often be good for a surprise.
Who or what do you give credit to inspiring your creativity?
I get my inspiration from everything what I see, this can be the most unusual or craziest things. One of my inspiration sources is the sea, it’s always fascinating for me.
What inspires you today?
Right now, it’s summer here, time for sun, sea and vacation. I have some beautiful photos from our last time by the sea, wonderful memories, which will end up on a layout.
What is your favorite Canvas Corp Brand Product? and why? Just one please!!!
My favourite at the moment is Glimmer Glam ‘Rustic’ – a beautiful glitter paint best for projects in altered art.
We asked Kerstin to choose her favorite project she has created using CCB Products.
Why is it your favorite project?
I love it to change old things into new things with a practical use. This box is at the same time a storage case, a home decoration project and an inspiration thing, because I added a little extra box for a pencil and leaflet, where I note ideas and flashes of genius.
My second choice is the Vintage Travel Layout where I used some cool pieces from the new Architextures collection. It’s very typical for me, a little bit vintage, a little bit steampunk and some stains and splatters and it tells a story, that’s very important for me.
Do you teach and if so tell us a bit about what you teach, where you go and some of your favorite places?
Some years ago, I taught some children and teenies. We worked with collected beach treasures, because it was a workshop by the sea. Some exciting and unusual wooden frames were created, all of which had a story to tell, we had a lot of fun and great enthusiasm with the lessons.
I am the happiest doing…
…sea inspired mixed media projects and try some new techniques and products
My favorite place to be creative…
…is my desktop on my craft place at home, here I have everything together
Tell us one cool detail about your studio or craft space…
Fortunately, there is a glass sheet on the desktop, where I can make always a new one mess and easily wipe it off.
Tell us one thing fun about you we might not know…
Sunshine ‘Filou’ our sheltie dog always wags his tail around and sometimes it ends up in my paints so you can find some colors or glimmer particles in his long fur and my family says: everything is clear, Kerstin was on a creative trip again.
Share with us anything about your creative life that you feel would inspire others…
I love the story behind the creation and I love 3D effects, they create live in your project.
As Th. Merton says: – Art enables us to find ourselves and lose ourselves at the same time – that’s absolutely right! Crafting means relaxation and dreaming, opportunity to try crazy things, to go new ways and inspiring others for a little bit more happiness in our everyday life.
Thank you for stopping by! Have a great day!
