Crew Interview – Nadine Carlier

It’s time for another post in our Canvas Corp Crew Interviews. We are extremely privileged to be able to work with a group of over a 100 of amazing designers from around the world. They have all come together to create, share ideas, support each other, let us know what we can do better and remind us of what we are doing well.  Our Crew members contribute projects to our blog, design with our products on their blogs, create models for our trade shows, packaging and other fun little projects.  We love to hear what they have to say, to be inspired by their work and to learn new things everyday.
Today, we get to know Nadine Carlier.

Where do you reside?
McKinney, Texas USA

Describe your design style…
I would say my style is eclectic, I am always evolving and changing my style to what I am feeling that day. I love working with mixed medias and very seldom have a plan in mind when I sit down to craft. I just start throwing things together. Whenever I try to plan a project I never end up following what I originally planned.

Who or what do you give credit to inspiring your creativity?
I can’t really give credit to any one person for inspiring, I love to watch YouTube videos for inspiration so many people inspire me. I started putting together scrapbooks as a young girl, I used to play lots of sports and I would save all the newspaper clippings in scrapbooks. Of course, that is nothing like how I make scrapbook pages today. After my son was born almost 23 yrs ago is when I did my 1st scrapbook using fun papers and stickers. Now, most of my scrapbook pages are mixed media and way too thick to even come close to fit into an actual scrapbook album. I have also branched out from just doing scrapbook pages, I now do cards, altered items, home decor and more.

Watching mixed media YouTube videos

What is your favorite Canvas Corp Brand Product? and why? Just one please!!!
The one Canvas Corp Brand product that I seem to use on almost everything I create is Tattered Angels Glimmer Mist so I would say that is my favorite but honestly there is no way I can only pick one.

We asked Nadine to share with us her favorite CCB project.

Why is it your favorite project?
I have many favorite projects I made using CCB products but this one is the most recent scrapbook layout I made and it is a picture of my dad when he was a little boy.

I am the happiest doing…
I am the happiest when I am hanging out with my husband and kids!

My favorite place to be creative…
My craft room has recently been completely redone and moved to another room in my house. I still have not got it completely organized yet but am loving it so far.

 

Tell us one thing fun about you we might not know…
I skied for the Junior USA Olympics ski team and I was also named as one of the top 5 fastest softball pitchers in the state of Nevada when I was in high school.
