DIY Easter Banner

We are so excited that Easter is next week and that Spring will be here soon. All the flowers are starting to bloom on the trees, green grass fragments and daffodils are popping up. Bunnies are galloping through the fields and birds are chirping away. The brightness of the sky is lasting longer giving us more outdoor time. Its just so exciting. This also means warmer weather.
CCB Crew Member Tonya Trantham created a wonderful Spring/Easter Banner that is over the top adorable in a pastel pink and green color palette from several Canvas Corp Collections. We can see it sprucing up your kitchen or fave area of the house. Even as a backdrop to your Easter collectibles. The colors are just so happy and makes us think of a fairy tale sweet shoppe straight from Mother Goose Tales.

Materials Used
Canvas Banner
 Step 1
I started with a Canvas Tag as the base for the mini banner and added a variety of trim to the bottom. I cut a 4 1/2″ piece of lace from the 7G Lace Trimmings Assorted Pack and folded off center and adhered it to the back of the tag with Fabri-Tac .

Step 2
I cut a 3 1/2″ x 6 1/4″ piece of Tan and Ivory French Script cardstock. Trim the two top corners at an angle to mimic the shape of the canvas tag, ink around the edges with pink chalk ink and adhered to the base of the canvas tag.
 Die Cut Bunny
Step 3
I cut a 3″ x 4 7/8″ piece of Lt Pink Burlap and adhered along with a pink doily which I had bought in this color. If you can’t find those in the store you can spritz with your favorite Glimmer Mist.
Pink and Green Tag

Step 4
I used the Easter Elements diecut and cut from the Green and Ivory Lattice cardstock a bunny and inked around the edges with pink chalk ink. I cut various pieces of lace and ribbon 2 1/2″ long and tied off in the center to create a messy bow which I glued to the bunny. I added a button and sequin to create a tail.

Step 5
I used the Beautiful Butterflies diecut (Stampin’ Up retired) but any butterfly diecut will work and cut from the Pink and Ivory Dot Reverse cardstock, inked edges and added a lace flower from my stash.
 Mixed Media Easter
Step 6
The banner still looked off balance so I stacked three buttons in different sizes along with a sequin and a Dew Drop and adhered to the bottom corner on top of the Ric Rac along with some fabric leaves from my stash. I cut a 12″ piece of Cord and glued to the back corners of the tag.
 Step 7
The little banner makes a perfect addiction to the Easter display I have started.

These colors are just delicious! The patterns and textures work so beautifully together, also. Great idea for a fun spring gift tag as well. Thank you for sharing it!
