DIY Farmhouse Christmas Tags with a Hidden Santa

How special are the Christmas gifts under the tree that have handmade tags on each one? Pretty special we think and these fun mixed media Christmas Tags Marie created are just the right touch. Marie painted these little tags, hid little Santa’s in 7gypsies domed bottles and attached them to the front of the tags. They are glass so they might need to be protected just a bit, but what a sweet idea for your DIY holiday gift ideas.

Creating your own Christmas tags is really simple and fun. Pull out all that is red, green, black, white, gold, silver and ivory and see what might just work for your DIY holiday tags. Keep in mind if the colors are not right you can alter them with Tattered Angels Paints to make them just the right color. Making your own tags is a perfect way of using up your all stash and like with making ATC cards the small amount of space to create on is both challenging and a inspiring. Wouldn´t you love having these attached to a gift under your tree?

The tags was made from scratch using red heavy cardstock and assorted Canvas Corp Patterned Cardstock Paper. Different Glimmer Mists where added to patterned paper before the embellishments was attached. The wings looks really cool. You can make your own by stamping with your favorite wing stamp on a heavy cardstock, cut out and then paint with Glimmer Glaze. These turned out really well in two layers.

The Christmas tree on this tag is a die cut piece painted with layers of Glimmer Mist. It fits perfect under the cut out label from the Better Not Pout Tags. You can make your own wings, trees and other holiday icons with punches, die cut machines or stamp and cut them out. So many options and then simply mist or paint them to mach your tags. This is especially great when you are making multiple tags for the gifts you are giving or putting under the tree. Make all your tags alike or make each one a little different.

Have you seen who is peaking out of the Apothecary Bottle? The little Santa was cut from a leftover piece of pattered paper.
