As part of our spotlight series we have asked each crew member to share a little bit about themselves. Questions that spotlight their creative talents and where the get inspired by. Our crew is spread out across the globe. They provide us and our artistic community with so much creativity on a daily basis. We are excited to bring to life their journey while we share ours….So lets get started and meet Nadine….
Describe your design style…. I would say my style would best be described as eclectic with a mixed media twist.
Who or what do you give credit to for inspiring your creativity? I have been crafty all my life. My grandmother and dad are the ones who influenced me most from a young age with doing arts and crafts. My mom influenced me with being a hairstylist which is also an art to me. The art of playing with different color combinations came from being a hairstylist and hair color.
What inspires you most today? Colors and textures, playing with different medias and creating mixed media projects.
What is your favorite Canvas Corp Brand Product? and why? (We asked them to pick just one, which has proven to be difficult for some and easy for others.) My favorite Canvas Corp Brand product is Glimmer Mists, a project just isn’t complete to me without a mist, spray, splatter or drips of Glimmer Mist.
What is your favorite project you have created using CCB Products? I created this canvas for Canvas Corp for CHA. Although I don’t think it is one of best creations it is my favorite because this particular project made me step out of my normal craft box. I have never actually painted a picture onto a canvas before and kinda shocked myself that it came out better then I thought it was going to.
Do you teach and if so tell us a bit about what you teach, where you go and some of your favorite places? When I owned a local scrapbook store before moving to Texas I used to teach classes all the time, I really miss teaching. I taught scrapbook, card making, mixed media, technique classes, Copic markers and Cricut classes. The thing I miss the most about teaching was how much the ones who took my classes inspired me. I loved seeing everyones take and how they would run with their own ideas from just a little guidance and make some amazing projects.
I am the happiest doing…..I am the happiest when I am in my craft room, listening to some music, relaxing by creating something fun and making a mess. lol
My favorite place to be creative…..In my craft room.
Tell us one cool detail about your studio or craft space. Although my craft space is extremely cluttered there is a spot right next to me for my 10 year old daughter to sit and craft with me.
Tell us one thing fun about you we might not know…In high school I was ranked as one of the top 5 fastest softball pitchers in my state and I went to the junior Olympics for downhill skiing
Nadine keep creating we just love it, especially this gorgeous art piece which is perfect for the Kitchen!!!! Here is the link to make this fun piece!!!!
