Hi everyone, Lynda here and welcome to another Friday with Friends post. This time featuring a digital stamp image from Time for Tea Designs. I have always loved coloring for as long as I can remember. It has been so fun to watch the transformation of the stamping industry from only red rubber images, to silicone images, to digital images. I first found Time For Tea Designs over three years ago, when I was looking for some creative inspiration and was looking at the listing of challenges you can find online. The quality of the digital images lend themselves so well to be incorporated into various crafting project. Recently, Jo Davies the owner, has branched out to produce clear stamps and coordinating dies. Both the new stamps and dies have been recently featured, along with Jo, on Create & Craft TV.

For my project I decided to use the digital image “Bookish”.

Let’s watch Lynda Create…..

When I am starting a project I like to lay out all types of possible embellishments I may use on a card. Then I let them help me to decide on the color scheme to use. For this project, I knew I wanted to upcycle the black and white polkadot cardboard backing from the Burlap flowers I had used on another project. Based on those choices, I also picked out this cute Red and Ivory Mini Dot Reverse and a few cute flowers. I had this fun “Choose Happy” stamp that I thought would be perfect for inside my card. I printed the digital stamp ~ Bookish, onto a piece of white cardstock and trimmed it down a bit. I always leave a little extra room around my digital images to test my colors while I’m working.

Knowing I was going to use the polkadots behind the image, I decided to use yellows and oranges for the dress colors as the base for her outfit. I then colored her in and trimmed the paper down a little.

Next, I stamped the sentiment a few times onto white cardstock using Memento ink. I then selected one and trimmed it down to a smaller size.

I like to repurpose all the great packaging that Canvas Corp Brands puts with their products. For this project, I am using this strip from the Greeting Cards and Envelopes packaging along with one of the Value Pack ~ Greeting Cards ~ White

I trimmed the Burlap Flower packaging, creating strips of the polkadots, to use to line my card.

Once, I had all the paper and cardboard pieces trimmed down, I began to assemble my card. I lined the edges with the polkadot cardboard and then added the Red and Ivory Mini Dot Reverse paper to the center. I then, added the remaining cardboard pieces to complete the frame on the front of the card base. When all adhered down, I trimmed the cardbase down. Lastly, I used black ink to grunge up the edges of the focal image.

I used the remaining cardboard and a small piece of the red polkadot paper to back the sentiment. I inked around the edges of the sentiment and added it to the strip. The entire strip was added to the inside of the card.

I added the Black and White Polkadot packaging strip to the center of the card front on top of the Red and Ivory Mini Dot Reverse paper. Topping it off with my colored image. I embellished my card with a the flower, making my card complete.

In Closing
