How many of you have had a minor panic attack when you found yourself in a last-minute situation requiring a card? Be it someone’s birthday, anniversary or a simple ‘thank you’… Instead of getting a ready-made one from the shop, why not make it? That way you will always have a stash of any-occasion, unique cards that you can personalise by adding that one special sentiment or the recipient’s name. Our Crew members, Angelique Jarrier, Tonya Trantham and Beth Bryd, show you how to make an amazing set of greeting cards that you can have ‘just in case’.
Once you have the goodies out make a set and put them away for all those surprise events.
‘Hello! I would like to share with you a very fun and easy project: making quick but beautiful greeting cards. It might be a good idea for you to make 2 cards at a time (just like I did) and use your glimmer mists to achieve interesting colour combinations.’ – says Angelique.

Angelique has also a couple of tips for you:
– Through a stencil, apply modelling paste to your card. Here, I created two different designs side by side to make two different cards.
– Group complimenting colours in sets of 4 to create impression of depth and shade.
– Ink the edges of our cards to give some contrast.
– To finish, decorate with tags, labels, and embellishments of choice.
You can find more creative inspiration on Angelique’s blog and Facebook page where she designs as Boule De Scrap.
Tonya Trantham is showing us a bit more ‘mature’ wine-themed cards using Canvas Corp Vino & Ale Collection. See how cool and sophisticated her cards are!
Tonya says – ‘I created a set of cards using the Vino and Ale Collection from Canvas Corp. I wanted to create cards that were more “mature” for some of my older friends and this collection is perfect for that.’
Materials used:
Canvas Corp Vino & Ale – Black and Kraft Wine Glasses Rev
Canvas Corp Vino & Ale – Vino and Cheese on Kraft Cardstock
Canvas Corp Kraft Cardstock

Tonya also has some tips for you:
– Fussy cut the elements you want to use as embellishment; I used the wine bottle and glass from the Vino and Cheese on Kraft Cardstock.
– You can die-cut various floral elements from any of the papers; ink and shape them before adding to the card.
– Use Tattered Angels mists to add depth and shading.
