As part of our match up with Petaloo this week we are trying all kinds of things with their amazing flowers. If you are not familiar with Petaloo International, they are an amazing company owned by a great couple who have put together a terrific business with a focus on craft flowers. The flowers come in all shapes, sizes, colors and textures and can be used for so many different things. For the match up we decided to focus on their DIY Paintables, which are white flowers, maybe they have a touch of printing on them, designed to let you add your own color, tint or use them in their beautiful natural state.
These are part of their Do It Yourself line and as you can imagine with all white blanks, the options are pretty much endless. We were excited to try them out so many different ways and also to see what the Petaloo team created with their stash of Canvas Corp Brands products we sent to each one with a surprise bag that hit either the grads or dads theme that Petaloo picked for this matchup.
Crew Member, Peggy Terrell, took the challenge of creating a project with the grad theme in mind. Peggy who spends her days at school and her nights and weekends creating took the challenge to heart and created a beautiful book that features her students and highlights what many of them will do next in life after graduation. Peggy took time on each page to not only design a great layout, but she added touches that were personal to each one.
The front cover features the new Canvas Corp 12×12 Heirloom paper – Graduation on Ivory. This neutral paper was designed to allow you to use the black and ivory tones or add school or personal colors. The Petaloo Flowers layered on the front add a nice bit of dimension to the book cover.
Seniors today are doing the most amazing photo shoots, creating terrific announcements and doing great things after graduation and filling this 7gypsies Naked Journal with those special memories is the perfect place to keep the announcements, senior photos, notes and even a handwritten note from each student. Add the paper to the front cover, by stitching or gluing, for an instant themed book cover.
This is a great way to capture memories of your high school friends and keep it personal.
While some do formal announcements…..
others created a collage of high school memories.
The Petaloo flower with the vintage pin in the middle is a great way to use vintage jewelry.
If you don’t have lots of stickers and accents for graduation, no worries, use goodies from your stash that match the layouts, add fun sayings that a grad might appreciate or even handwrite a note or words from a song.
Jotting down where each graduate is going next is a great way to keep up with good friends and follow each of their paths.
So as the pages fill, so do the memories.
The sweet embellishments fit with each page and the Petaloo flowers
are perfect for journals as they lay flat on the page.
A great poem or song is a perfect way to close the book especially if it reminds you of the class of 2016.
The pages may bulge a bit, so wrap your book with a bit of jute and a Class of 2016 sticker and you have the perfect graduation journal, memory book, guest book or photo album.
