Hi Everybody…..are you ready for our next addition of Friday with Friends. Today we have Crew Member Deb Peterson. She has paired Canvas Corp Textiles and Beach inspired papers and with a Graphic 45-Staples ATC Book Box.
This simple little box is a great starting place for any theme or design style. Sized to hold ATC (Artist Trading Cards) it is the perfect little give, place to keep ATC Cards you receive or ATC’s you make. You will find this and a range of other boxes at Graphic 45. and on Amazon.
And we are so excited to see how Deb transforms this blank box into something amazing.
In Deb’s Words
Graphic 45 is a small family owned company. As well as offering vintage styled paper, they also have a large line of Staples/Embellishments which include decorative hardware, boxes, albums, and tags which work very well with Canvas Corp ~ Mix and Match pads and other papers.
Check out Deb’s Creative Process
Step 1
Using the Canvas Corp ~ Coral Claws and Shells paper, from the Sails and Shell Mix and Match pad, “fussy cut” the Lobster, Coral, and Starfish.
Step 2
Measure the outside of the Graphic 45-staples ATC Book Box, cut pieces from Canvas Corp ~ Coral and Ivory Stripe paper for the top, bottom, spine and inside rim. Using scissors, distress the edges. Then adhere to the box.
Step 3
Cut the a piece of Canvas Corp ~ Denim about 1/2″ smaller than the base piece and adhere to the top of the box. Using the “fussy cut” Coral and Starfish, adhere them on top of the Denim. Use a pop dot to adhere the Starfish.
Step 4
Inside the front cover, cut out and distress the edges of one of the word blocks from the Canvas Corp ~ Sails and Shells sampler sheet and adhere.
Step 5
Using the Canvas Corp ~ Flute sheet, from the Mix and Match pad, cut a piece for the inside bottom of the box. Using Tattered Angels ~ Color Wash Patina paint and a sponge, apply it over the corrugated surface. When dry, adhere to bottom of box. Lastly, add the “fussy cut” lobster.
Step 6
The first ATC from theGraphic 45-staples ATC Book Box, is inked with Peacock Feathers Distress Oxide. Additionally, add a small square of burlap, and the Jellyfish from the 7gypsies ~ Architextures ~ Day at Sea.
Step 7
For the second ATC card, using Tattered Angels ~ Caribbean Mist Color Wash paint, paint piece of canvas from the Sails and Shells ~ Mix and Match pad. Then cut it to the size of the ATC card and adhere. From the Sails and Shells Sampler, cut out and apply the sailboat.
Step 8
Mix texture paste with Tattered Angels ~ Caribbean Mist Color Wash. Using a stencil, apply mixture to one of the ATC’s. For the top of the ATC, cut a piece from the Coral and Ivory ~ Ribbon Stripe paper and adhered. I chose the “set your course” saying from the 7gypsies ~ Architextures Day at Sea sheet. The final step is to add the brass ring!
What a FABULOUS way to document a Day at the Beach!!
