We all know that gypsy travels are fun but this one – was super fun indeed! Candy Rosenberg went on her adventures to Virgina City to meet the modern-day zombies… and see some amazing sights!
OLD TOWN ZOMBIES WITH CANDY ROSENBERG
As a Gypsy, I like to travel to fun old towns that speaks to me. This last winter I got to go back to my favorite town, Virginia City, Nevada. This time, however, it was to fight modern-day Zombies in an Old West Town. This was their 5th year of doing this Zombie Run and it was a complete blast. You can choose to be a zombie with professional makeup and everything, or you can be a racer/runner finding clues and trying not to be eaten or captured by the zombies or you can do what we did and just be a spectator. There was so much to watch, it was a cornucopia of activity!
Check out the video to get an idea of how The Hunt works…
After the hunt, of course, we had to walk through town and see how the shopkeepers were doing…after coming here for several years you tend to get to the know the locals. I love this and is what brings me back each year!
This shop has an old Zoltar machine that spits out your fortune. I did it and saved the fortune ticket for journaling. In this same shop off to the right, you can see that they have a real life shooting gallery.
We could not resist hitting the rails on the Virginia City train route that took us by the Pumpkin Patch to pick up pumpkins. A great time with my guy and my youngest daughter.
We have a Gold Hill here in my own town, so this always makes me look twice.
I love all the photo opportunities that are around town, this one was perfect for my little jailbird!
The famous Bonanza, the real deal here.
One of the most haunted hotels on the map, The Silver Queen, is a fun place to stay.
Be prepared for a noisy night, however, as all the cool kids hang out here.
I have visited this town several times now and have heard all the stories and seen the photos of the Wild Mustangs that roam throughout town. I had only seen them from afar in the outlying hills. These guys were right by the car and street. Such an amazing sight.
Looking forward to going back to my favorite city soon!
Hope you enjoyed the little zombie tour!
