What are you up to this weekend? BBQ’s? Relaxing by the pool? Fireworks? Maybe a little crafting? Well this sweet hanging pennant is a great little creative project for the weekend that you can do in a certain theme or style or for everyday. Crew Member Lynne Forsythe shows us how it is done.
Hello Canvas Corp Brands Fans!!!
Lynne Forsythe here with a simple creative twist.
I have had a 7gypsies Vintage Pennant sitting
on my work table for a bit now….
just admiring the beauty of the “paper” on the banner shape
but not wanting to use it in a conventional way!
Then I had a BRAIN STORM!!
I cut the stitching along the top of the
7gypsies ~ Vintage Pennant ~ Damask.
The pennants are part of the Gypsy Seamstress collection from 7gypsies – creative products that are already sewn for you with a fun vintage vibe and ready for you to create with them.
I then found some woven ribbon and sewed it to the Damask Pennant.
Then I dug around in my button box (yes I am a button hoarder)
and found a couple of vintage velvet buttons to add.
JUST PERFECT!
Here is where the fun begins…..
you see, not only am I a button hoarder
I also like to collect tidbits of nature that catch my eye…
(all tidbits must be dead or on the ground)
SOOOO…..using my Tiny Attacher, I stapled on
a piece of mesh along with a piece of birch bark
that had a bit of moss lichen growing on it.
(here is a youtube video we found to show you how to use this great Tiny Attacher)
Here is my vintage crafty pennant that is perfect to hang anywhere!!!!
I tucked in all kinds of NATURE odds and ends
I had laying around my studio to create this
eye catching wall hanging!
It will hang PROUDLY in my studio!
I finished off my Nature Hanger with a bit of Vintage Lace and
Canvas Corp Brands ~ Hemp Cord ~ Chocolate
tied into loopy bows
and a Petaloo bloom,
all adhered with Multi Medium.
Here are a few closeups!!
The pennants are available in a range of different vintage fabric designs so you can choose the style that works best for your vintage vibe.
I hope you have enjoyed my simple creation
straight from my NATURE Gypsy Heart!!
