Let’s talk about art journaling again. You may not always know what to paint or draw or create, all you know at that particular moment is that you want to ”do something”, you NEED to do something creative. So you sit down with your journal in front of you and you let yourself go…no rules or boundaries, just free, unrestricted art. This is what what makes an Intuitive Art Journal.
We’d like to share with you two journal pages made by our Crew members: Sanna Lippert and Blu Kissmycreative.
Sanna’s entry is called ‘Don’t force the pieces’ which perfectly sums up the idea of the Intuitive Art Journaling. She used Tattered Angels mists to add colour to the designs she drew with a black pen and stamped with some retired 7gypsies stamps.
Tattered Angels Glimmer Mists – Patina, Sun Sisters, Abominable Snowman, Chocolate Covered Strawberries, Red Chilies, Leap Frog
Pen – Staedtler
Texture spray – Imagine Crafts
Stamps – 7gypsies (retired)
Old book pages
White signo uni-ball pen
If you’d like to see more of the colourful creations, make sure to visit Sanna’s Instagram and blog.
Blu shows us a little bit more mixed-media oriented take on the Intuitive Journaling. She uses Tattered Angels Mists as well as scraps of various Canvas Corp and 7gypsies papers. To finish, she added a little bit of handwritten journaling and… Taaa-Dah! Here it is!
‘I’ve really been loving Intuitive art journaling lately! It’s so freeing to be able to just throw down a bunch of things and not worry too much about how it turns out. This was a super fun journal spread and I encourage everyone to go and play in their journals!’ – says Blu.
Tattered Angels Glimmer Mist – Olive Vine, Summer Glow
Tattered Angels Simply Sheer – Tangy Lime, Rich Brown
7Gypsies – Junque Pack
7Gypsies Gypsy Mixed Media Pad – Gypsy Moments
Canvas Corp 12×12 Paper Heirloom Collection: Brushes on Ivory, Black Patchwork on White
Canvas Corp Tissuestock: French Script on Ivory, Damask on Ivory
7Gypsies Tags: Affirmations
Various ink pens (in black and white)
If you’d like to see more of Blu’s work, make sure to stop by her Instagram.
As you can see, Intuitive Art Journalling is all about letting loose and not worrying about the outcome; it’s about doing what feels right ; it’s about allowing your creativity to take over. Give it a go and see for yourself how good it feels and how amazingly arty the results are.
Remember to share your craftiness with us in our Facebook CCB Collective – we love seeing your work!
