Children grow up so fast, and sometimes we forget all the little quirky things they did when they were small. There are also times when we just want to tell them all our hopes and dreams for the future, but they are too young to understand yet. Jean Marmo created this precious keepsake box for her granddaughter that she can store letters in to give to her one day. What a lovely gift she will receive when she is older! Our Sugar and Spice Mix and Match Pad is just perfect for this sentimental project- it is full of quotes, images, and colors that will help you to customize a keepsake box for that special little girl in your life.
A keepsake box to hold letters I am writing to my new granddaughter.
Find or make a little box to hold letters and keepsakes in. Make sure you think about the size of the box- if it is just to hold letters a smaller box may work, but if you would like to add keepsakes and ephemera throughout the years perhaps a larger size would better fit your neesds.
Mix and Match Pad – Sugar and Spice
Our Sugar and Spice Mix and Match Pad is full of pink, black, and ivory prints, images, and sentiments that are perfect for making all sorts of baby girl projects. Cards, baby shower decor, and scrapbook pages have been popular uses for this paper set!
Paint plain pencil box
Little pencil boxes can be picked up inexpensively from dollar stores or in the school supply section in your local department store. You may also already have a little keepsake box on hand that you can decorate and hand down to your little girl as an heirloom keepsake!
Decorate lid using decopage paste.
Mod Podge is a great paste to use, or you can make your own by mixing glue and water. There are many DIY recipes to find online with a simple web search. If you would like a glossy finish, our Tattered Angels Clear Glimmer Glam also works wonderfully as a finishing coat!
Complete cluster
Find little bits or ribbon, burlap, flowers, and keepsakes to decorate the lid with.
Decorate inside
With so many different patterns included in this Mix and Match Pad, there is more than enough paper to cover the inside of this little box. Having all the papers together in this set also takes the guesswork out of finding papers that coordinate together- the colors and patterns all match!
Thanks so much for taking the time to stop by the blog today! We hope this sweet little keepsake box has inspired you to create one of your own for that special little girl OR boy in your life! Take a few moments to jot down a special memory or some loving words for the future, and place them safely in your custom made box. It would be a wonderfully sentimental gift for a graduation or wedding day!
