Live your Life – Breast Cancer Awareness Crafting

This project we were asked to do to support Breast Cancer Awareness Month got to be very personal when I found something in my own breast in September.   I was waiting for my doctor’s appointment when I made these special canvases. The qoute is ‘live your life, love your life,’ became so much more important to me during the wait. Its so important to live your life to the fullest.   <3  And just to let you know, I’m fine, the lump in my breast was nothing, the doctors did not see anything 😀  Please enjoy my canvases and the video I made to show you how I made them.

The video shows the details, but the fun part about this canvas is that I used the back as the front, letting the raw edges be exposed.  I covered all of the canvas with Gesso, this is not required, but creates a white smooth surface and the colors pop when added.  Speckles of paint create an amazing effect with the layers of tiny papers on the inside of the canvas turned shadow box.  Find a heart of special trinket that means something to you and add a tie of hemp or ribbon to create your own pink ribbon.

The pair of Live Your Life little canvases were created with a little water and and brushes the pink mist where you want it.  It will pool darker in some areas which looks so great.  After it dries with a Sharpie or stamp you can add your staying – Love Your Life!!!!
