Wow, the girls have outdone themselves this month, don’t you think. So now it’s my turn to step up to the plate. I hope I can still inspire you, I have had so much fun working with my Tattered Angels paints on metal this month!
First up I did a warm-up with a couple of layouts, I decided to use up some really old metal embellishments I had by recolouring to match my pages…..
I started here with white Bazzill cardstock and coloured it with Peacock Chalkboard, and Apricot Nectar & Polka Dot Pink Chalkboard Mists from the new range, these new colours are just so vibrant! I also used them here on the crepe ribbon.
The square plaque was already painted pink so I spruced it up a bit with Penny Loafer Glimmer Glaze and Chandelier Glimmer Glam. The little frame was a silvery metal, it got a luscious makeover with some Orange Crush Glimmer Glaze and a top-coat with Chandelier and lastly the alpha charm was painted with Midnight Rendezvous and Waterfall Glimmer Glazes, again with a top-coat of Chandelier. The white pearls were coloured too, with Waterfall Glimmer Glaze.
My second page began with grey Bazzill cardstock and was misted with Forest Green, Watermelon and Coffee Shop Glimmer Mists.
The metal bar and square brads were a variety of tones so to blend them together with the layout I painted them with Be Positive and Organic Garden Glimmer Glams.
My second project was a set of coasters I found at the junk shop, perfect for a spruce up 🙂I first stamped some flowers with Stazon ink then coloured them in with Orange Crush & Waterfall Glimmer Glazes, Midnight Rendezvous & Saffron Glimmer Glazes, and Chianti Glimmer Glaze, much nicer now!
My final project is a 10″ x 12″ canvas which I covered with corrugated cardboard then alfoil (you know, that stuff you wrap your spuds in before you cook them in a campfire). The background has been painted with Blue Suede Shoes and Dirty Martini Glimmer Glams. I also covered some ugly cardstock in alfoil and embossed it for the birdhouse (painted with Saffron, Penny Loafer & Oil Slick Glimmer Glazes) and the sun (painted with Be Positive & Golden Goddess Glimmer Glams and Orange Crush Glimmer Glaze).
The clusters of metal embellishments were inspired by our very own Anna Dabrowska (link to her blog is on the side-bar) who does such amazing work. I have blended the different elements together by painting with Orange Crush Glimmer Glaze and then giving a light mist with Decadence Chalkboard Mist, one of the luscious new colours.
So those are my Metal projects for February, hope you find some inspiration, if not I’ll just leave you with one more image of a couple of tin buckets I found and covered with our new Sprout & Inchworm Chalkboard mists, the one on the right also had a coat of the new Limited Edition Marmalade Glimmer Mist. I so love the dirty old grunge feel they now have.
Thanks for dropping by, and happy painting adventures to you 🙂
