I really enjoyed creating these fun Mixed Media Canvas ATCs using the canvas ATCs as the base. The Canvas ATCs are sold as a set of 4 and each ATC is created with 2 pieces of canvas stitched together. They provide the perfect base to build upon. Since canvas already has great texture, when inks are applied the texture is more enhanced. For a more mixed media appeal, I added some inks, printed cardboard, Glimmer Mists, White High Impact paint and stamps.
Take a peek at the tutorial below…
Canvas Corp – Canvas ATCs
Canvas Corp – Printed Cardboard: French Letters
Tattered Angels – White High Impact Paint
Tattered Angels Glimmer Mists – Marigold, Suede, Golden Lime, Atlantic
Inked Watercolor Paper
Oxide Ink, Black Ink, Clear Embossing Powder
Eyelets, Crop-a-dile
Trimmer, Scissors, Paintbrush, Hot Glue, Heat Gun
Using black ink, stamp images onto inked watercolor paper.
Cut stamped watercolor paper and printed cardboard down to layering sizes. Distress the edges with oxide ink. Set aside.
Directly apply oxide ink to Canvas ATCs.
Apply clear embossing powder and heat with heat tool.
Adhere all layers together with hot glue and attach with wide eyelet. Using a paintbrush, paint along ATC edges with White High Impact Paint and tap on paint to enhance the overall design.
Add dyed ribbon and continue embellishing as desired.
Quick and easy – right?!
