Every time I have a party or get together at my house I make drinks, usually my favorite is Margaritas, but I do make others some times. Inevitability someones asks me how I made this drink, what is my secret – well know I have my recipe book they can look it up in!! My plan is put put it out on the counter where the drinks are served and everyone can see how I make them and they can snap a picture of the recipe in the book to take home!!
I used the wonderful new line Mixology from Canvas Home Brands to make this fun drink book. it is just full of wonderful sayings, pictures, and phrases!!
I took various parts of each of these wonderful Mixology papers and create a “how to make a drink” book including which glass to use on like below down to how to make the drink. I used the little phrases from the “Words on white” paper to act as tabs in the book so you could flip to the section you wanted!!
Some of the drinks I make were not listed on the drink sheet (but they were very close), as int he case of the Tequila Sunrise, so I found a little word form the “words on White” and popped it in, and boom done!! I even added a few little fun sayings from the “Happy Hour Sayings” paper.
I am not much a color it in kind of person, but with these papers you could have a ton of fun coloring in all these glasses on every page!! I paired all these wonderful Mixology papers with the wonderful bright colored cardstock from Canvas Home Brands.
Just reading of all these yummy cold drinks just makes me want to sit on a beach on some tropical island and listen tot he waves come crashing in – vacation anyone?!!?
I also wanted to include a couple of non alcoholic drinks in my book, because there are always kids at my parties (as I have a brood of my own) and also for those who do not drink. Everyone loves lemonade and for a twist on iced tea why not try some Chai iced tea!!
The entire recipes book was composed on the fun little file folder book from 7 Gypsies, but instead of using it horizontally, I flipped it vertically and then added in a couple of cute charms of wine and beer because they are always at my parties I just don’t have to mix them myself!!
Paper can be used for so much more than cards and scrapbook pages, it is so much fun to think outside of the box and create something fun for a night out with the friends!!
