Are you ready for some more Watercolor Style Valentine´s Day cards? Today we have five more cards prepared for your inspiration. Try painting hearts with a paint brush directly onto watercolor paper, like Michelle did? Or create a Valentine´s Card that is perfect for men and women by using Mixed Media Mini Origins Artsy paper, like Lynda did? Or why not give your cards a twist by using the Mixed Media Mini Origins Coffee Break papers to create a different type of Valentine´s greeting for your loved ones?
For this card, the main supply was the Tattered Angels Glimmer Mist. I started out by dipping a thin paint brush into the Glimmer Mist and making a heart shape on the watercolor paper that I had folded into a card. I dipped my brush in water and moved the mist color around with water as I would with watercolors to fill in the heart shape. Then I used more of the same Glimmer Mist color to make the splatters on the background of the card. I set the card aside to dry and grabbed a pencil to doodle my flowers on a separate piece of watercolor paper before cutting it out. Using a variety of Glimmer Mist colors I used the same watercolor technique and painted the flowers with my thin paint brush, blending with water as needed. Once dry, I adheared the flower cutout with popdots and inked all the edges with a black ink pad. As a finishing touch I stamped the title to the card “You Are Loved” .

The Mixed Media Mini Origins Art Collection “Artsy” has such an amazing selection of images. I knew I had to use this particular piece for a Valentine’s card – the eye at the bottom was perfect to complete the I love you-sentiment that I wanted on my card. I used Glimmer Mist sprays to watercolor the entire card front – spraying each color onto a protective sheet and using a wet brush to paint onto the image. I sprayed the card base with the Vintage Pink Glimmer Mist and then added the trim down image to the card front. Finally, I completed the card by adding stitch lines around the image, then adding the “love you” stickers and the epoxy heart. I am sure my husband will enjoy the more artistic design to this Valentine’s day card this year.

I love to watercolor and I wanted to use this techique to prepare a doily for this particular card . I sprayed the Glimmer mist onto a protective mat and then used a wet paintbrush to paint the doily. Once it was dry I added some tiny self adhesive pearls to a few of the shapes for decoration. I cut a heart shaped piece from a section from the 12 x 12 burlap sheet in pink and glued the burlap on top of the doily. I used the same Glimmer Mist technique to paint every other line of the patterned paper for my card front. I really like how the background turned out – it really makes the other pink elements on the card pop! Next I adhered the patterned paper to my cardbase and then added the doily on place. I finished the card off with trim.

I love creating Valentine’s Day Cards with a non-traditional colour scheme, making them perfect for masculine or feminine cards! The Tattered Angels Mists combined with the Tattered Angels Mini Mixed Media Origins “Coffee Break” papers create a soft, watercolour card with a lovely shimmer- and who doesn’t love coffee?!! The Mixed Media Origins Paper has such an amazing texture – almost fabric-like. I stitched around the edges with my sewing machine for a neat effect. I also used the Tattered Angels Mists on both the Origins papers and on the watercolour paper that I diecut with wafer dies. A bit of Glossy Accents add shiny details to the heart elements.
