One Cute Baby Girl Scrapbooked Three Different Ways

Just like it can be so hard picking out what outfit to wear, it can be  just as hard to pick out what papers to show off those great baby photos with.  Christine shares with us three different ways to scrapbook the same photos with terrific results.

The photos, the clothing, the hair bows are all so cute – they have to be scrap booked on just the right background to show off those trendy little ones.

Let’s start with the Princess Baby Layout that features products from Canvas Corp’s new Sugar & Spice baby collection.

Christine here showing the first of three layouts using Canvas Corp’s new baby girl collection Sugar & Spice. The papers can take on so many different looks from modern to traditional and from trendy to vintage.  Match your layout and layout style to the photos and have a ball doing it.

Mist and add splatters of the Chalk Chalkboard Mist to the edges of the French Baby Girl Words on Ivory paper. Let dry completely. Cut the Canvas Sheet 10.5″x10″ and fray all edges. Glue it, slightly slanted on top.

Step 2:

step2

Trim 9″ x 9″ of the Pink & Ivory Ribbon Stripe paper and glue on the Canvas Sheet. Trim the E-Flute paper 8.5″ x 7.5″ and glue on top of the the stripe paper. Trim the Ivory Burlap sheet to 6″ x 8″ and fray some edges. Glue on top.

Step 3:

step3

Add a couple of Baby Girl Tags, positioning it on the top right of the layered burlap and paper sheets.

Step 4:

Glue a 5″ x 7″ photo on the Burlap sheet. Cut out the pram from the It’s A Girl On Ivory Paper and glue to the bottom right of the page.

Step 5:

step5

Cut out the topmost strip of the It’s A Girl Stripe on Ivory paper. Then, cut the circle crown and glue on the top of the scallop tag with foam dots for dimension.

Step 6:

step6

Glue the “Our Little Princess” stripe under the photo, then glue the scallop tag on the left side. Glue a Baby Charm beside the scallop tag using glossy accents.

Step 7:

step7

Cut out the pink baby banner from the It’s A Girl Sampler on Ivory. Glue the banner on the top left of the page in a curve.

Step 8:

step8

Cut out a couple of bows from the It’s A Girl on Ivory and glue on each end of the banner.

Glue a couple of Princessa Crystal Hardware pieces on the banner, curving and dangling the large piece on the right side. Use glossy accents for a strong and clear bond.

There you have it! Your cute little princess is now showcased in a beautiful layout.

Now, if your little girl is more of a French Girl than a Princess, I have the perfect layout for you! Using the Mix n’ Match pad and a different set of supplies, I created this second layout to give this baby’s pictures a little bit of French flare.

Step 1: Lots of layers are key to mixed media layouts, & the Mix & Max Pad doesn’t disappoint. Here, I’ve added folds to the Burlap Sheet, then layered a slightly folded Baby Canvas Sheet, plain side up with the Black Flute paper is layered behind the photo. The different strips of paper from the same pad are positioned in a “T” shape, drawing your eye to the photo even with all the layers and details around it.baby girl layout IV

Step 2: I cut out a small word from the Baby Girl on Stripe Ivory paper (from the Sugar & Spice Mix & Match Pad), and glued them on the red strip of the Antique Silver Vintage Metal Clip. I then topped it with some glossy accents for an enameled look. baby girl layout V

Step 3: The Vintage Pink and Coral Reef Glimmer Mists are a match made in heaven. You can lighten the spalsh of color by watering it down, or adding some Chalk Chalkboard Mist like I did. It will definitely give it that extra oomph and glimmer!

Step 4: The Baby Charm between the second “b” and “e” is inserted through the Natural Hemp Rope, which is stapled on the left side and curved nicely with the layers of the pretty bebe banner.

Step 5: The top half of the layout has brick stenciling with modelling creme, and the bottom half uses the same stencil, but with the Graphite Glimmer Mist. Mist through the stencil on some areas, then stamp the stencil without rinsing it to other parts to get varying effects/textures. Some more interest/texture is added with the Shine Cling Stamp & black Inkpad.

Wah-lah! This layout will make anyone who sees it say “ooh-la-la!”

Still have more baby pictures that you don’t know how to display? No worries here is the 3rd layout – an altered art layout for that special little one a fun way to show off trendy outfits or photos!  This time I choose the black and ivory pieces of the collection with just small touches of pink, added lots of paint and a range of embellishments.

Step 2: I used the Glimmer Mists to add color and vibrancy to the background.

Step 3: I then glued the photo to the background and framed it with the Black Flute paper that came with the Sugar & Spice Mix & Match Pad. There’s also some added Chocolate Waxed Cotton Cord and Pink Mini Clothespin to make it look like a frame that you hang on the wall. The number 3 was cut out from the Black & Kraft Numbers paper.mixed media baby I
