Hello friends! Karla here today with a fun and easy crafty project you can give as a gift or create for yourself and get ready for some crafting on the go! I love being able to take projects with me when I know I’m going to be waiting for a bit, while at my kids activities or if I’m away for a weekend. I actually created this project for my oldest daughter, Stephanie, and I included a pad of watercolour paper and a little travel watercolour kit to make a whole gift set, but I’m thinking I just may need to get one for myself!
I grabbed some Tattered Angels Glimmer Glam paint and Stained Glass paint to colour in the lovely Studio print (check out the full supply list below). You might not think at first to use these versatile paints, but they are thick enough that they don’t soak through and they create a beautiful shiny finish on the canvas. I used a small paintbrush and dipped it directly into the bottle, rinsing with water in between colours. My 7 year old even helped paint, so this a project you can definitely get the kids involved in too! Just be sure to give the Glimmer Glam paints a really good mix. I used a chop stick to stir them so I got all the glitteryness – I’m pretty sure that’s a crafty word đ on my project.
I decided to use my Cricut Explore to personalize the brush holder with some iron on material. It is cut backwards so it irons on correctly after it is flipped over.
I followed the directions and was easily able to apply it to the canvas surface.
Here’s a look at the finished back side of the brush holder. The paints look so pretty, and the Glimmer Glam has a gorgeous glittery effect – especially that Silver Diamonds paint (one of my favs). You could customize this to any colour scheme you choose, and I love the vintage print from this Studio collection!
You can see here how it rolls up so you can grab it quickly and craft away!
